Arcam is hét centrum voor architectuur in Amsterdam. We organiseren programma’s rondom architectuur en stadsontwikkeling. Onze tentoonstellingen, debatten, podcasts en onderzoeksprojecten zijn toegankelijk, maar kritisch; bewust van de historie, maar met de blik op de toekomst gericht. Arcam is the architecture centre of Amsterdam. We organise programmes about architecture and urban development. Our exhibitions, debates, podcasrs and research projects are accessible, yet critical; mindful of history, but with an outlook towards the future.

Meet the authors behind three inspiring books on feminist theory and the city. A podcast on feminist theory in relation to architecture. The podcast digs deeper into their publications. In this episode, Architect and researcher Afaina de Jong talks to Nirmal Puwar. Puwar joined the Sociology Department at the University of London in 2003. She has a longstanding interest in bodies and space, her book Space Invaders: race, gender and bodies out of place (2004), generated a conceptual framework for considering the conditions of inclusion within institutions. Afaina de Jong is Arcam's Architect in Residence from November 2020 to April 2021 and in search of the meaning of a feminist spatial practice.
