She has a longstanding interest in bodies and space, her book Space Invaders: race, gender and bodies out of place (2004), generated a conceptual framework for considering the conditions of inclusion within institutions. Afaina de Jong is Arcam's Architect in Residence from November 2020 to April 2021 and in search of the meaning of a feminist spatial practice.
