Andy Augustine retired last year after a 38-year teaching career, most of it with high school students in the small town of Loretto, Tennessee. Augustin taught computer programming, music, art, chemistry, and physical education. Anatomy and Physiology, however, was his favorite subject to teach. Offered in the Career and Technical Education department at Loretto High School, Augustin thinks the classes were a favorite class among his students, too. Mitch Fittro is the education and workforce manager for Central Colorado Area Health Education Center. Mitch has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He previously worked as a program director for before-and-after school programs in Jefferson County Schools (in Colorado) and he has worked with under-privileged youth in Chicago as well. The Central Colorado Area Health Education Center is one of 300 National AHEC Organization chapters, a network that serves over 85% of United States counties. Kathleen Beesley developed a love of horses beginning at age 8 in the United Kingdom, where she was born. Beesley, who earned a degree in politics and German at the University of Kent, has taught English to children and adults in Barcelona and Portugal and later completed a Masters in Linguistics at the University of Surrey. In 2004, she started riding horses again in Portugal and started painting them, too. She continued painting after a move to Abu Dhabi and fostered dogs through the volunteer organization Strays of Abu Dhabi. She also purchased an Arabian ex-racehorse. Beesley retained her combined interest in art and horses following another move back to Portugal and also back to the United Kingdom. Beesley later moved to Mexico City—all these moves were due to her husband’s work—in early 2017. Beesely started the online anatomy course with Equinology and completed the Equinology Equine Bodyworker course in 2017, where she first encountered, much to her studying pleasure, the Anatomy in Clay® Learning System. Courtney Molino founded Hands on Horses in 2004 to promote the overall wellness of companion and competitive animals. A registered veterinary nurse, Courtney completed the equine rehabilitation program through the University of Tennessee and is trained in the skills necessary to design and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation program for a variety of musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. Courtney received her certification in equine bodywork from Equinology® and offers both sports massage and myofascial release services to help keep the equine body in peak physical condition. Courtney is a frequent presenter of bodywork clinics and has been featured in numerous publications. Recently, she founded the EquiLearn Institute and is excited to bring the excellent Equinology and Caninology curriculum to the eastern United States. Debranne Pattillo sees equine anatomy with the eyes of both a body worker and an artist. Her teaching is infused with her basic delight in both the anatomical precision that excellent bodywork requires and the dynamic variation that teaching anatomy on horses often presents! Debranne's book, Anatomy of Equine Bodywork; the Equinology® Approach was published in 2018 and holds her 30-PLUS years of her learning experiences, knowledge, techniques and applications. Since 1994, she has been the lead instructor for more than 200 equine sports massage and anatomy courses to more than 2,000 course participants in the US, Canada, UK, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada. Debranne holds the Equinology® Master Equine Body Worker Certification, a certification which takes participants over 1600 hours of coursework to complete. She is the author and facilitator of the unique Equinology® Equine Body Worker Certification Course, which is the signature course for Equinology. J.P. Theriault is a 'Yooper' - a resident of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. J.P. graduated from St. Norbert College in 2012 with a degree in communications with a focus in media, yet has never worked a day of media in his life. Instead, JP has been in sales and marketing for eight years, including the last two as an educational consultant for Anatomy in Clay. Also on the podcast is educational consultant Heidi Millender, who recently moved with her husband and dog to Galva, Illinois. Heidi loves to play golf, read and hang out with friends and family. After teaching in classrooms for twenty-four years, Clelia McCory has been helping Kansas school districts with acquiring, maintaining, and improving vocational education funding/programs during the past four years. To date, she has helped bring the Anatomy in Clay® Learning System to nearly half of the school districts in The Sunflower State. McCrory has helped teachers develop approved CTE programs in the areas of Business, Technology, Agriculture, and Trade & Industry. She also helps districts develop Pre-Collegiate Education and Health Occupations programs. She works closely with the Kansas Department of Education Career and Technical Education consultants. Brandee Gillham has been an independent contractor with the Anatomy in Clay® Learning System since 2012. She holds a master's degree in Biomedical Science with an emphasis in anatomy - along with a secondary science teaching certificate - from Colorado State University. She also earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biological Sciences, with a minor in anatomy in neurobiology, from the same school. She has been a college-level anatomy instructor and, for one year, a high school school math and science teacher as well.
