Dedicated to Monkey the French Bulldog, a member of our family, who recently developed a disabling condition Masticatory Muscle Myositis that has left his jaw locked shut. It took us a month of treating and working with him at home to finally reach out for veterinary assistance who helped us diagnose the deeper issue at hand. We will be continuously raising money to help pay for assistance with Monkey’s path to healing via the go fund me link ( https://gofund.me/f213cef2 ). This mix was recorded with Monkey present relaxing on the couch in front of the stereo and we channeled all his friends and favorite music acts for a mellow drift for everyone. Some of these recordings Monkey was even present in the live audience for. We love Monkey and we are hoping and helping on his path to healing. Dining Lounge Volume 1 always gives me that wholesome feeling. When I originally made it in mid-November of 2017 I knew I should release it for the thanksgiving setting a day before in mind. So here with the same spirit this is presented in honor of its 3 year anniversary for whatever gathering and/or sharing you are having. Original versions available via the Anandamide Bandcamp.

Presenting a 2nd version sketch of the trip hop exploration. It was originally a very raw idea to get out of the habit of playing the same set of classic jazz records and dive into a section of the collection where downtempo dance music lives. It started going well and after listening to the first sketch incessantly a re-record felt compelling to present. Here the second version of the sketch features more time from the songs than the first. This was great fun to make. Nonstop groove. Original recorded to cassette all vinyl record mix inspired by the idea of krautrock. Still unsure of its meaning I hope to be landing somewhere in the sound with this exploration. Originally recorded May of 2018 on the fly and unedited.

Jazz records played at -16% pitch on the Technics 1210m5g complete with a special slowed down cassette tape track by Tomcat (Telly) for good measure as he uses the samples for the song from one of the jazz songs played here on record. Everything felt more appropriate slowed down here. It was fun. Enjoy.
