Podcast feels rather scripted.

I wasn’t aware that it was WGU’s Leadership Team that pioneered the tremendous shift to core competency-based education. My bachelor’s degree followed a similar model in that we had an advisory board of local professionals who served as consultants for the development and evolution of our program over time. They wanted to ensure that graduates were prepared for the local workforce by integrating the skills most valued by current employers. As I am becoming more interested in data analytics for higher education, I would love to hear more about how WGU is using geospatial analytics to customize their student’s academic experience to their desired career plan and residency.

As someone working in higher education I really enjoy listening to this podcast and hearing the perspectives of the different guests and about the future of higher education. Todd is a great host and asks insightful and thoughtful questions to his guests. You can tell he has an enthusiasm for the topics and that the guests are subject matter experts in their fields. This is a good listen for anyone working in the higher ed realm.

This was my first time listening. I listened to S2 Ep 1: Boosting Employability with Competency-Based Education. I love that Wiley does podcasts such as this. It is so innovative and a great way to educate others. It was an easy, interesting listen. Based off the podcast I listened to, WGU seems awesome! I love the focus of WGU on individual learner needs and how they help them be successful! If you have the time, I highly suggest listening to these!

As an avid podcast listener, working in the higher education sector, I have tried to find an industry podcast I loved yet couldn’t. Until now! The entire hour of episode one was amazing! It then outlines growth through learning from mistakes, asking quality questions, and testing solutions. For those interested in capitalizing on the opportunities for innovation in your space, this is a must listen!

I highly enjoyed this first episode because it highlighted the importance of flexibility and adaptability as we are navigating new territory in higher Ed post COV-19. The speaker stressed how paramount it is tailoring to our learners needs and how we may need to reconsider “traditional” delivery methods. Highly recommend!!!
