Amazing series!
I’m not a true crime listener. This is the first true crime series I’ve listened to and it’s completely changed my outlook on true crime. This series was so amazingly researched and handled with so much care. Jules is an incredible journalist! Highly highly recommended!

Just Wow, so much more than I was expecting.
I am a true crime fan and when I came across a story that unfolded in Montana (Bozeman local) I was immediately interested but unsure of what to expect. I am awestruck by the thoughtful journalism shown throughout this series. If all journalists took the humanist approach that Jule’s does while pursuing this story I think our society would be much brighter for it. She showed so much professionalism, kindness and grace in so many instances, especially when depicting the tragedy Linda and her sister experience. I found myself gritting through those hard interviews where Jule gently holds true to the facts of Linda’s story while still allowing space for empathy. Thoughtful, honest, and poignant through and through. My heart goes out to Linda, her sister, and Jim. The strength of character and perseverance they’ve all shown uniquely and individually is inspiring and as thought provoking as Jule’s journalism. I will hold in my heart the changes necessary for our local laws the next opportunity to vote.

OUTSTANDING
I am a journalist in Montana. I knew the general backstory here, but the information Jule uncovers is fascinating, infuriating, and deeply emotional. I binged this whole series in a single road trip and you will too!

Do yourself a favor and listen to this podcast
I’m an obsessive true crime podcast listener and wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into with this one. I tell you now I cannot oversell this podcast. I can’t believe how moved and inspired I am by Linda and Jim and this story. Truly one of the only rue crime podcast that is both horribly unjust yet fills me with feelings of faith in humanity. To Linda- I can only think this outcome is because the world was meant to hear your story and to know you. I’m so grateful to have heard your and Jim’s voices and carry your insights with me. And yes! It’s okay to hate Ron!!! Thank you to the host Jule Baneville, keep doing what you were so clearly meant to do! A journalist that more than lives up to the name

Listen… and then share with everyone you know…
This story is haunting - in so may ways, across so many lives. And the reporting/storytelling is simply exceptional. I have listened through twice - and find myself repeatedly talking about it with friends and family. It is one of the most terrifying, heart breaking, compelling, and ultimately, hopeful stories I have ever encountered. So grateful Linda shared her story - and so impressed with how Jule Banville met the opportunity and challenge.

WOW
Tragic, heartbreaking, rage-inducing, and sometimes beautiful, this is a story everyone should hear. Historically, our “justice” system has failed to treat sex crimes with the seriousness they deserve and, while laws are now finally being changed, the effects of certain past legislation cannot be undone, no matter the consequences.

So well done
Fabulously constructed and told. Bravo! MORE PLEASE.

Quality Reporting
Jule’s keeps the reporting interesting.

A plus, well done
Awesome podcast. Linda’s dad is trash, once I found out who did this and that the justice system couldn’t do anything about it, as a dad I would find this guy, torture him and end him. A jury could decide my fate.

Excellent but tough
Excellent podcast but tough subject. It really is time for the law to catch up with science.

Worth your time.
This is an incredible story. I will confess I have known Linda for over 20 years, and I only knew bits and pieces (to be fair I was 10ish when we met). She has made such an impact and even though it is hard to hear and I’m sure hard to re-live for her, this story is important so that it doesn’t happen to you, your daughter, your son, your sister, your brother… your anyone for that matter. Nobody deserves this. We need to make changes to protect victims, to protect others from facing the same fate.

Everyone needs to listen to this podcast!
There is an issue in our justice system that everyone should be aware of. Listen to this podcast and become informed. Vote for change and urge our elected officials to make change. Linda is a hero! But what happened to her should never happen again.

Incredibly well done
This is an extremely important story that needs to be heard and these podcasters did an excellent job. Both victims in this case are truly inspiring!

A small piece of justice
While true justice has yet to be reached for the people involved in the case, this podcast will make an impact. Linda’s story needs to be heard, and Jule Banville did an excellent job helping her tell it. Bravo.

Artful Storytelling
Host and reporter Jule Banville combines shoe-leather reporting with riveting storytelling in this important series exposing a flawed justice system and a survivor’s resilience. All the suspense of true crime but none of the cheesiness! I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story — and more storytelling from this talented voice.

Great new Pod when we feel like we’ve heard them all!
Great pod! I don’t listen to a lot of true crime podcasts but this one has me hooked! Great reporting by Banville and she talks to everyone she can about the crime and you’re right there with her for it all. Highly recommended!

AMAZING
I just binged watch the first four episodes and I am really impressed. I could not find the name of the woman who is reporting this but she has done a fantastic job telling the story using compassion and professionalism. I am excited for Episode 5! Keep up the great work!

Audio journalism at its finest!
This project is so needed. What a fantastic story that covers all viewpoints and shows the flaws in the justice and legal systems as well as flaws in humanity. But don’t worry, there’s a lot of hope, strength and resilience too!

A Gripping and well reported Narrative
Im so glad I took the time to listen to this. Banville does a great job with her well-rounded, well-reported podcast. I usually struggle listening to the crime podcast genre, mainly when it covers sexual assault. Despite this, I am gripped by Banville's well-edited and scripted story, I cannot wait for more episodes!!
LindseyRLindsey
Well-paced, expertly researched true crime
An Absurd Result takes the difficult subject matter of the rape of a child and handles it with incredible poise and insight. The first episode lays the groundwork, and after that, we are off for a narrative ride of the bizarre twists and turns of this case. Each episode ends with the perfect blend of closure and suspense. This well-researched podcast gives voice to everyone who has a role in the twists and turns of this narrative, and despite the large cast of characters, the host invites us in until we feel like we have known them for a long time. As a result, the story is gripping and intriguing without feeling intrusive. A must listen for true crime lovers.

Wait until all the episodes post
Another podcast that seems to be “squeezing” half the content into twice the space. This always makes me think there isn’t much of a story to tell but this one sounds like it’s going to be pretty complex and well written so I actually hate making it a 3 star but the first 2 episodes are less than 30 mins and the first 5 minutes of the second one is retelling the first one🙄. On top of it, mine didn’t have any adds so I’m wondering what’s the point? At least give us hour long episodes…….or……drop the whole thing so we can just listen to the entire story and move on? Anyway Ill wait until the rest of the episodes drop and maybe update my review.
