This is a brief monologue about how amazing the blackouts in Texas were in February 2021. Living with a family in 10 and 12 degree temperatures was amazing (and easy)! The blackouts in Texas needlessly happened because of ineptitude of ERCOT (the electric grid oversight commission). This failure wasn't about wind turbines, or other nonsensical blaming of green energy. That kind of statement was a pathetic misdirection to not own the failure, all the while protect the oil industry and ERCOT. The real issue was FROZEN NATURAL GAS lines that, like the wind turbines, were not winterized. (Sidenote: wind turbines in Alaska function through the winter because....they are winterized.) Y'all, climate change is real. The Arctic ice shrinking destabilizes the jet stream and for the next few decades will continue to send Arctic air as far south as Texas. Then, in a few decades, winters will feel like spring. Get ready for massive change in standard of living due to this changes. If we don't address our issues, they will address us.
