THE INTERVIEW

K+L have done the research: you all LOVE to talk about sex. Dr. Holly Richmond is a Somatic Psychologist, Certified Sex Therapist, and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She led an amazing New Paradigm workshop this year, and it was juicy! So we had to have her on the podcast to share her insight with all of you! In today’s episode we talk about how the role of sex and intimacy has changed in 2020—whether you’ve been living together or not—and the lack of connection we’re facing, as well as how to get back to that connection… or at least find a way to connect intimately that feels best for us individually. She also tells us how we can broach the difficult subject of criticism, having better sex by having better communication surrounding it, and separating sex and intimacy. It’s a super deep conversation about something we all want to know about but most of us can’t talk about and it will leave you feeling empowered to have more intimate conversations in your relationship.

We also talk about:

  • How unwilling people are to talk about se
  • The growing pains people are facing around sex during COVID-19
  • Starting a conversation without making your partner insecure
  • Avoiding being critical during sex
  • How body image holds us back from enjoying sex
  • Finding ways to reach orgasm
  • Edging, climax control, and lasting longer in bed
  • Pornography consumption and trends during the pandemic
  • Reigniting the spark in your sexual relationship
  • What somatic therapy is
  • Getting into your body
  • Making the decision to go to sex or relationship therapy
  • Handling high emotions and conflict
  • Improving a low libido
  • Broaching the conversation surrounding a fetish
  • Navigating intimacy without sex
