I talk about my podcasting journey and how it has been the gift that keeps on giving.

My podcast journey really started in 2018. One podcast led to another, and then another, and eventually I landed on a few podcasts in the personal development space that really resonated with me.

I took an online course and about 6 weeks into the 12 week course, I not only thought about having my own podcast, I had a release date for when it was going to come out.  I didn’t have any idea what I would talk about, what the name of the show was going to be, but I just knew this was something I wanted to try doing.

I learned about Canva and created cover art.  I watched videos on how to create a spotify account, how to record, edit, and upload content.  I decided on a format for my show and how long I wanted the episodes to be and I knew I eventually wanted to interview guests.

I put out a trailer episode and 1 month later I published my 1st episode.

Why am I telling you all this?  One reason is I hope to be an example that you don’t know what the future holds for you.  Another reason I am sharing this with you is because I want you to know the journey hasn’t been the easiest.  I have had to learn a lot and continue to learn a lot, but that’s the beauty… that’s the part of podcasting that continues to keep on giving.  Not only did I learn a lot just as a listener of podcasts, but once I decided to jump in and host my own show, there have been all kinds of things I had to learn to make that happen.

I have also learned so much about myself!  I have learned that just trying and putting out something is the win!  I can be proud for following through on something I said I was going to do.

No one is great at something in the beginning… they 1st have to be good at it.

As I sit here on Christmas Eve, I can’t help but be so thankful for the past 8 months of me having my own podcast.  I can only hope and believe that it is in someway a gift to you as well.  My goal for the podcast is to share people’s stories, to give everyone a platform to be seen, heard, valued, and loved.  As you listen to the show, I hope you connect to something that is being said.  I hope you are inspired in some way, and you find something in your life that can help you spread love in the world… it might even be you starting your own podcast!

Like I keep saying, I am so grateful that I chose to take a chance on myself.  That I didn’t let fear hold me back from wanting to create this podcast.  I am so grateful to any past guests, guests whose episodes haven’t been released, and future guests that I don’t even know about yet.  I am also deeply grateful for you, the listener.  I don’t know who you are, but I appreciate you so much for taking time out of your day and for taking a chance on listening to my podcast.  As the title of the show states, we are all connected.  One person’s actions have a ripple effect on all other people and I so hope that me showing up in my most authentic way, it resonates with you, and inspires you to do the scary thing, the thing that has been on your heart for a long time, or something that simply makes your heart smile.
