So insightful and Christian’s questions are all so on the nose to what I’m wondering. I really feel like I know what the school but also the admissions member is like as a person by the end of the episode.

Christian Essman is the GOAT (as well as Dr. Mehta, Tom McKenzie, and the rest of the admissions team). This podcast was new when I was applying to medical school, and I loved watching them. There is so much helpful info in each episode! - Current med student

I am actively applying to medical schools and always listen to episodes diving into the details of what the schools want before starting my secondary applications. Not only does this help me to identify what I should highlight about myself and my experiences but I also learn so much about what the schools value and what their program is like, helping me understand if the school is right for me. All students applying should use this resource as they are determining where they want to apply to and how to best present what qualities they offer to the program.

Christian does a great job interviewing the guests; not only do we get practical information like the structure of the curriculum, but we get to hear the rationale behind each school’s decisions. This is so helpful in figuring out what schools are a good fit, as well as humanizing the faceless and monolithic “adcom”. It’s a must listen.

This podcast quickly became my favorite premed podcast that is available. Christian is a fantastic host/interviewer and it is a very easy and fun podcast to listen to. It can take a while to review a medical school’s website to find all of the information that you’re looking for, but Christian asks for everything you need to know and then some during the episode. I can’t stress enough how informative these podcasts are to someone that is getting ready to apply to medical school and I’m always looking forward to the next episode!

You might be looking at the episode length and seeing 1, 1.5 and maybe even 2 hour long episodes but let me tell you, it is worth it. The level of depth you get into in these sessions are gold mines of advice and information that are otherwise hard to get. Come listen and participate in picking the mind of not 1, but 2 admissions reps. every episode, you won’t regret it.

This podcast has tons of helpful information and Mr. Essman asks all the BEST questions. The interviewees are also knowledgeable and honest. After listening to all the episodes, I have a better understanding of what qualities to look for in a school that would be the right fit for me. Can’t wait to hear more! Mr. Essman also answers emails and questions and is extremely thoughtful. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Mr. Essman and everyone on the podcast.

All Access: Med School Admissions is easily the best podcast out there for premedical students. You get a front row seat to conversations with the individuals who run the admissions process at medical schools around the country. A huge thank you to Mr. Essman and all the guests that have made this show amazing. You have made an indelible mark on my premed path and I will continue to share this podcast with fellow premeds!

This podcast has been so informative and it’s really nice to hear from actual admissions directors, instead of getting information second hand on the internet. It’s very inspiring, motivating, and makes you believe that you are good enough for medical school! Christian is the best host- he’s so funny, his voice is calming, and picks great opening music!
