Join us as we explore the Gospel of Matthew 4:1-11. In this scripture, Jesus is in the wilderness for 40 days and nights and faces 3 temptations.The purpose of these temptations was to:1) get Jesus to question his identity - "If you are the Son of God..." (verses 3 & 6)2) stop Jesus from living out his mission/callingTemptation operates the same way in our lives. It's goal is to trip us up. Tempt us to question who God says we are - "his dearly beloved son/daughter". Distract us from living out our mission/calling.May Jesus the Messiah keep forming us into the people of God - called to act and be a blessing to all the families on earth.

There were 3 hopes for our graduates that Pastor Daron took from the scripture:1) How God felt about Jesus... is the same way God feels about you. "This is my dearly loved child, who brings me great joy." v.172) Live an active faith... serve..."Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God." v.83) Be Prophets and Proclaimers who share with others:"Repent of your sins & turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." v.2Build the life you want to live. May Jesus the Messiah keep forming us into the people of God - called to act and be a blessing to all the families of the earth. 

Join us as we explore chapter 2 of the Gospel of Matthew.Like the wise men, Jesus teaches us to keep on SEEKING and you will find.Like Joseph, the dad who raised Jesus, we are invited to pay attention and LISTEN to God. Like both the wise men and Joseph, may we trust God enough to ACT on what we learn.Then do that process again and again,,,,May Jesus the Messiah keep forming us into the people of God - called to act and be a blessing to all the families on earth.

Join us as we explore what it was like to be the mother of Jesus.Who was Jesus' mom?What was it like being the mother of Jesus?How might God form us today through her story?We have a number of scriptures that teach us about Mary and her relationship with her son, Jesus. So we broke it into 4 different chunks of her life:-Expectant Mother-Mother of more than Jesus-Mother during Jesus' ministry-Mother at Jesus' crucifixion and resurrectionBest yet... four moms who are part of our house churches share what they imagine it would be like to be the mother of Jesus during that part of Mary's life and how God might form us through her story. May Jesus the Messiah keep forming us into the people of God - called to act and be a blessing to all the families on earth.

Join us as we begin our study of the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew describes his own story as one of an "outsider". Someone who the religious people of the day didn't think was good enough for Jesus. But Matthew held on to Jesus' teaching that "healthy people don't need a doctor, sick people do". It's why we try to create a culture of "No Perfect People Allowed".As we start of the Gospel, Matthew wants us to understand that Jesus is the Messiah, the King, the King of Kings. Jesus is the fulfillment on the promises that God made to Abraham and to King David. Who are the hero's of your family tree? What are the stories that you'd rather not tell? Matthew tells it all for Jesus' family tree - showing us through the highs and lows that God is faithful.May Jesus the Messiah keep forming us into the people of God - called to act and be a blessing to all the families on earth.

Join us as we explore Jesus as a prophet. Matthew 23:37-39 are the last words that Jesus says to the crowds:"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me. And now, look, your house is abandoned and desolate. For I tell you this, you will never see me again until you say, 'Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!'"These words bring us to the end of our seven month study of the prophets and into Holy Week. May we continue to listen to Jesus as a prophet, as he calls us to come back to God today and become the people God dreams we can be.
