Very good podcast you could pronounce everything in English your not impressing anyone when you switch to Chinese it’s confusing and annoying and sounds stupid

Missing episodes

This narrator lacks any charisma. He’s as flavorless as jasmine rice, dim sum, or Asian applicants to Ivy League schools. He has no change of pace or tone when he narrates. This show is the perfect soporific for insomniacs. My other issue is that he pronounces Chinese names in a manner that’s totally unintelligible. Bring back the original narrator!

I cannot speak for the first two seasons, but the third has been fantastic so far. I appreciate that the episodes are a good length and released regularly. The host is clearly very studied on the topic and I love all of the fun facts we learn along the way. The very granular play-by-play nature of the podcast can be tough to digest for people who are less used to hearing history at such a slow pace, but the host makes it easy to understand and still entertaining to listen to. There is clearly a lot of work put into this and I really appreciate that it’s all available for free! Please check out and support his channel “The Pacific War Channel” on YT, he’s a really great content creator that deserves more thanks for his work!

Very good podcast. Quick response to Craig Watson in season 3. The past tense when some dies by hanging is “hanged” not “hung.”

Good listen but he spends waaay too much time on one subject. Been Mongols for over a year now

The series on the Mongols was great and informative! I still dunno what a Mongol is?

This podcast excels at making complex and deep subjects engaging. The host has enough of a sense of humor to make like of the serious subject matter without being disrespectful. The speculation is treated as such, and is only mentioned when it’s plausible or popular enough, but unreliable. I’m falling behind in other podcasts because of this one. Love it!!

I envy their ability to cram so much information into such an easily digestible package. Not only am I learning new things about parts of history I didn’t know much about, but also, gaining new insight into parts that confused me before.

Is this the same guy from YouTube? Kuz if it is, keep goin. These small history lectures are awesome. And if this podcast isn’t anything like the YouTube channel than ima have a great time at work listening to some history

I’ve learned more about the Mongols than I thought I ever would

I love the research that goes behind each episode as well as its great narration and production value. I wish they could churn out an episode everyday!

I like the podcast and really appreciate the subject matter they are tackling. Definitely worth a listen. However, my constructive criticism would be to 1. Look at pronunciations. I can’t tell you how often I have gotten popped out of the subject matter by a bizarre pronunciation. From Cambyses to Hephestion, and even regular words like revere, it makes it harder to take the podcast seriously. 2. Drop the attempts to connect to modern day. The WW1, WW2, and Vietnam references were cringeworthy and inappropriate. Again, it makes it hard to take the podcast seriously. There are smaller nit picks but I think the podcast enjoyable and hopefully it gets better over time.

The Kings and General’s podcast is a great podcast on history. I love listening to it as often as I can, and even repeat listening to past episodes. Keep up the excellent work!

Exactly what I was looking for! I loved the wars of the diadochi, and am greatly enjoying the mongol series, partially because I know so little about them, and partly because I’m excited to hear how the baddies got whooped at Ain Jalut, given the context that they were a near apocalyptic force. Love the cast!

Amazing job on YouTube videos. This podcast matches the devotion and small nuances which the YouTube channel does so well. Following 1 linear historical event makes it even better as you can hear history develop wherever you are.

The podcast is very like legit it’s historical they do look at all kinds of historical things I recommend you check out there YouTube channel which is kings and generals

I learned so many things from this podcast and it’s really interesting to listen. I am hoping that it will also teach other people about history too and deepen their love of history. I like how they make it so exciting and when it gets more complicated Kings and Generals just breaks it down into more understandable Segments !

... almost make the podcast umlistenable. The content on the Diadochi wars is great but please, please learn how to pronounce the historical players’ names. It is painful to hear the narrator pronounce Lysimachus as “lie-so-mack-us” 50 times or more in an episode. Same goes for Seleucus, Menelaus, and quite a few others. At least he pronounces Demetrius correctly instead of saying “dee-ma-tray-us...” Great content but you need a different narrator.

The podcast is an Excellent addition for more history and context on the events covered in the K&G videos.

This podcast is good for learning about history but it lacks the sense of drama and emotion of the Kings and Generals YouTube videos. I’d like to hear more personal stories about histories told with a more dramatic flair like the stories about Sejanus and the Tour De Nelle affair videos. If not podcast is fine as it is.
