Season 1 was educational, but they lose focus in season 2
Matt and Louis bring a lot of musical theatre info into their dialogue, which makes sense, since it proves that they know what they're talking about and they're passionate about the subject. For most of season one, I enjoyed their commentary, since it was relevant. However, as the show progressed, they started losing more focus on the show. The topic at hand would be related to show business, but I'd just get so bored. It was frustrating because the whole time, I'm thinking, "Just get back to talking about ‘SMASH’! You have the ability to cut the fat in editing, and when you say you will, you obviously didn’t!” At this point, I'm not interested in what they have to say for the rest of the show, if they keep digressing from “SMASH”.

Always great to revisit
On my third relisten during my third rewatch of the show. A great companion piece to NBC’s Smash if you’ve had the misfortune of not being able to convince anyone to watch it with you. Louis and Matt are fantastic hosts and the journey they take with their multiple guests brings back a lot of great memories of watching the show as it aired.

I love Church.
This podcast is everything that I’ve been searching for in my quest for fellow Smash aficionados. Thank you for all of your hard work!

3 listens are not enough
On my third listen in as many years. Never gets stale. Please make more.

Can't get enough of it!
I'm late in finding this podcast but I'm so glad it did! I'm not one to binge podcasts, but this is the exception - so much so that I'm afraid I'm burning through these too quickly. I always need to remind myself not to listen to this in public because I laugh so hard I probably look a little crazy. Hearing Louis and Matt's biting commentary brings me so much joy - they're hilariously snarky but never go overboard. They also do a great job of bringing in a wide variety of guests who either bring in theatre insight, personal stories, more comedy or are just devoted fans. I would love it if these two did another podcast in the future.

Love this podcast
I just discovered it a few weeks ago, though Smash has been over for years, and I’m working my way through all the podcast episodes now. This show just slays me. I love Matt, Louis, and all the guests. I watched Smash right up until about the penultimate episode when it got too dumb to enjoy any more, but this podcast is just the right kind of dumb to enjoy thoroughly. You do not need to be an expert on Smash to enjoy this show, but it is perfect for something fun to listen to and enjoy. Thanks guys!

Therapy
"After Smash" is like talking through your most painful moments with your therapist. It may be hard to relive, but the outcome is totally worth it. Louis and Matt's in depth look at this NBC bomb is hilarious and heartwarming. SMASH may be terribly broken, but it still has something beautiful to give.

Better than Kale Smoothies
I stumbled upon this and I'm all ready at the end of season 1 in 3 days. Matt, Louis and guests relive the greatest and worst moments in "SMASH." It's great they are revisiting it 3 years later and it's still entertaining.

The podcast we never knew we wanted.
Awesome for those who loved, or loved to hate Smash. Probably the most important podcast to ever happen.

My entire life has led up to this
The amount of times I (and my friends) have hate watched Smash is embarrassing, so thank God for this podcast for making me do it again. I want to be famous just so I can guest on this podcast.

I love this podcast. Hilarious, makes me miss Smash for better or worse. I hope the hosts do bun heads or something else after the last Smash episode.

Hilarious ! It's own show
I just watched Smash for the first time on Amazon Prime. Following along with After Smash has been such a thrill. I would have been lost with all the plot lines of not for this podcast. Sometimes I just mute the show and play the podcast. I also learned a lot of random theater information. I'm going to be really sad when this ends as I am already on Episode 8! It bothers me that they eat in Times Square!

After this podcast is done, you should start recording episodes about Broadway news. Pretty please.

Thank you so much...
…for allowing me to relive Smash and have the conversation I’ve always wanted to have about why I love it and why it was interminably frustrating. You guys rock! I just so happened to be re-watching SMASH when I learned about your podcast from “This is Really Important with Jeffrey Self”.

👍🏻
Two hilarious people talking about a hilariously good/bad show. Lots of perfect sarcasm, great points, and fun insults. Also, followers of the podcast should be called Smashgays. ❤️

Highlight of my week
Finally, a Smash podcast! I love reliving NBC's best/worst musical TV show every week with these guys, and the commentary on Anjelica Huston's bangs/Leo aka "Carpet"/Sportsgay etc. are all amazing.

How Did I Live Before This Podcast Entered My Life?
I’m so glad this podcast exists tbh. I’m not sure if there is any other show in the world that deserves to be thoroughly discussed as much as SMASH, and Matt and Louis are doing an incredible job of reminding us all why we love SMASH, hate SMASH, and love-to-hate SMASH. Also the theme song is A+++. It’s all-around excellent, I laugh so hard every time I listen to it, and I can’t wait to hear their thoughts on all of the insanity to come!

Matt and Louis bring a much-needed smile to my face each week by discussing one of my all time favorite (no shame) shows, with the perfect amount of consideration and humor. Their aficionado/virgin/special guest dynamic makes for a structure that allows them to cover the details of each episode, fill in some NYC/Musical Theater contextual gaps, and make hilarious predictions that, while far-fetched, might actually happen given the often nonsensical nature of this show. It would be all too easy to only focus on the ridiculousness of SMASH, but Matt and Louis manage to walk the thin line between providing a thoughtful discussion of each episode, and remembering to not take themselves, or this show, too seriously. They are clearly having fun - and I have fun listening. (I only hope they can convince Julia's scarves to come on the podcast one day. You know those divas have some juicy behind-the-scenes gossip on Eileen's bangs...)

As if I needed another reason to re-watch SMASH
I’m incredibly embarrassed to admit the first time I watched SMASH season 1, I was totally Team Karen.

I don't like Smash, but this I can roll with.
Having listened to the first three episodes of AfterSmash, a few things are apparent: 1. I was right to hate Smash when it first aired. 2. It was worth the wait for Louis Peitzman to go from perennial podcast guest to hosting his own show. 3. "And introducing Katharine McPhee..." is still the most absurd marketing copy I've ever heard.
