Gentrification is the process whereby the character of a poor urban area is changed by wealthier people moving in, improving housing, and attracting new businesses, typically displacing current inhabitants in the process. In this episode, we explore the consequences and effects of gentrification in our neighborhoods. Certain neighborhoods only get revitalized and invested into when certain people move in, property values go up, access to healthcare becomes more available......but the previous residents of the neighbor often cannot afford to stay and must move. Most of the time they are forced to live in rural areas with no resources. Gentrification is a huge threat to lower income minorities. These people are usually displaced and a lot of time with uncertainty on how they'll manage their lives. OUR neighborhoods need to revitalized by US.
