What a great concept - taking on some of the potential future challenges we will face, in the form of an advie show. Rose obviously knows her way around the ideas of the future - and she knjows an impressive variety of experts to reach out to as well. Be sure to stick around for her thoughtful essays at the end!

I enjoy this show, and Ms. Eveleth’s other longer-running show, Flash Forward. This is more conversational and narrative, and less journalistic than FF. It’s fun without being unserious.

Such an entertaining show with a focused point

Flash Forward producer Rose Eveleth recently introduced this gem. AFAFTF is a less formal and wider ranging complement to her original production. Eveleth stretches her creative talents a bit more, lets her hair down (if you will). It’s fun and I look forward to each episode drop.

Rose has been in my ears with Flash Forward for years. That podcast was the one that got me into podcasts in general! I always wished I had more of Rose and now I do! The conversational aspect of Advice for and From The Future has been a lot of fun to listen to. It’s well edited though and doesn’t feel like you’re just ease dropping on two people like some other conversational type podcasts. The most fun too is you get to see Rose exploring her creative side with the endings that have also been great. Thanks Rose for another great podcast!

I get excited whenever I see this podcast pop up in the feed. The host uses the "advice show" format to explore some topics that vary from likely to not do likely. The guest is knowledgeable, and there's something fun in with the discussion. It's much lighter than the host's other podcast, but that's ok because not every future needs to be taken super seriously

Rose hits another one out of the park with her take on an advice column for all of our Future adjacent questions. First episode I listened to (maybe it was THE first?) was about following a partner to Mars, and while I dont have a partner, I am often the one in a conversation that would volunteer to head to any given planet for exploration. The episode started with the question at hand and then morphed into the pep talk of a century that made me question everything in my life in such a delightful and kind and thoughtful way - was there a form of escapism I was seeking by glorifying space travel? Complicated question for a therapy session some other day, but that episode stuck with me and I’m happy to pop in every episode for a delightful take on a question that I hadn’t thought about before! It’s different than Flash Forward, but isnt that the point?

I enjoy this podcast, an easy, breezier entry as compared to (the also good) Flash Forward. A great jumping on point

First guest- Buzzfeed FC never mentioned Snopes a great place to start; other search engines ought be used - duck duck go for example. We’re 9 months into this without leadership from on high - all together separately on our own. IMO the first segments were fluffy. These Aristotelian muse is nice. Carry on.

Personally I love the cussing

I’ve loved FF for a few years, so I’m thrilled that Rose now has the time and resources to produce yet another wonderful show! The first episodes have proven just as probing and insightful as I could have hoped. My only criticism is that so far the show doesn’t do a lot to really differentiate itself from FF in terms of tone or subject matter, and feels more like an addendum to Rose’s “main” show than its own self-contained work. To clarify, I can’t really imagine someone getting into this show unless they were already into FF. I might be wrong, but I definitely get the sense that she is hoping for AFFF to develop some sort of presence of its own. I’m very excited to see where Rose takes this new show, considering the amount of experience she has gained since starting her first show.

I’m a fan of Flash Forward and after listening to the first episode of this new podcast, I’m hooked on another one. I can’t wait to hear more.

Super excited for this! Flash Forward often leaves me with lingering questions and this is a fun but thoughtful way to delve into those; loved the first episode and am eagerly anticipating the great Alexa debate!

Not gonna listen to someone cuss, when I could spend my valuable time not. Cussing is basically a was off saying ur low class, bc you can’t go a minute without saying bad words. There is a reason they are called “bad words”! So yeah I’m not going to listen to a bunch of nonsense.

Seriously.

This show is a great opportunity to feature her humor and wisdom! So glad to have more Rose in my podcast queue.
