Our guest this month is a photographer, long distance hiker, and all around cool human being, Tommy Corey aka Twerk. After an introduction and our normal catch up, we talk about how he got into photography, his favorite cameras, and then we dive deep into his latest project, All Humans Outside. In this project Tommy will be taking photos of 100 humans from all sections of the outdoors (sports, conservation, recreation, etc.) and all different backgrounds with a special focus on people that aren't stereotypically represented in the outdoors and encapsulating their stories in an upcoming photobook. This is a momentous undertaking and Tommy gives us an inside look on how this project came together and what we can expect in the final product. Since the book is about how people interact with the outdoors and how it effects them, we ask Tommy about how it has effected him. We then talk about Tommy's experience being an LGBTQ person on the PCT, how he thinks we could increase diversity and inclusion in the outdoors, and have a serious but important discussion about suicidal thoughts, depression, and how Tommy has dealt with them in the past.
