Came here from the Staircase on Netflix but don’t see any episodes. I love David! What’s going on?

Great podcast
Really well done episodes and the hosts put the victims voices first. Interesting criticism of the way the justice system can be used and abused for just to get a conviction. This show taught me about what an objective or subjective investigation looks like. I also think the lessons learned here are valuable in thinking about confirmation bias in any field you work in. Great podcast all around and can’t wait for new episodes.

Amazing
I love the perspective of this podcast and the fact that it’s lawyers who see the real picture day in and out. Really eye opening on all aspects on law and order and enlightening. I wish they would give us more episodes.

Beautifully done!
I love this podcast and binged listened over 48 hours! I want more! It’s so shocking and sad and triggering the injustice of how some accused of crimes they didn’t commit keep getting abused by the system over and over again! Kudos to the Innocence Project and similar organisations who refuse to give up. Can’t wait for Season 2!

Addicting!
I love this podcast! It does a great job highlighting some of our countries greatest injustices and is so easy to listen to!

Perfect cure
Perfect cure for my Law & Order addiction. Maybe not cure... but balances the scales. (Too obvious?)

Thank you for this podcast- Keep up the great work !!

Thank you!
I’m not a criminal. But your episodes have me prepared in case I’m ever suspected, called into whatever. As a former journalist, who thought I knew it all, I’m now informed! Thank you!

So good
I cannot get enough! I am fixing to re-listen to them all. I want more! So much corruption!

Incredible podcast
This podcast has me locking my windows & doors against the government & police at night. Incredibly well produced and presented, admittedly a bit one sided....but incredibly well involved & investigated. Also, it’s about freakin time.

More Episodes Please!
This podcast is beautifully written, conducted, and presented. Despite the sad events that life brings up and the government not always in favor for the wrongfully convicted, I cannot express how binging this is. The stories, as sad as they all are, bring the listeners to re-evaluate the society in both past and present politics as they bring us to question ourselves. Should we trust the government, what if it was I who got convicted for a crime I certainly and lucidly did not commit, would I be strong and brave or would I be shattered into pieces? The case of Sedley Alley, haunting and frustrating. Sedley deserves justice! As for the cases of Hannah Overton and Kristine Bunch, disturbingly heart breaking. Both state and federal government have to fix the lives they have destroyed with their unnecessary power trip. Standing by for more episodes.

Fantastic!
Thorough, informative storytelling but doesn’t go too far into the weeds on technical things. This is a massive part of the criminal justice system that people casually talk about so it is important to have pods like this that shine a light on the grave injustices in such a personal yet professional ways. The interviews are all great. Just overall incredibly well done!!!!!! I hope there are more seasons.

Sucked in!
I heard about this from an interview on My Favorite Murder and it sounded intriguing. I’m hooked. It is both fascinating and horrifying at the same time. It’s very relevant given the much discussed need for justice reform in our country. Now I’m just sad I’m almost out of episodes.

Love it
I love this podcast, I came over from MFM and am so happy I did. I love to learn about flaws in our system and about those who are working to fix them. I don’t know why other reviewers said it was biased because this is probably the most straight forward presentation of facts (always considering both the sides). I literally wish I could intern for these two because I find what they’re doing so fascinating and necessary.

Must watch if you have true crime and work in the justice system
I work part time in the justice system supporting incarcerated veterans. The system is so incredibly broken and appreciate this podcast because it gives voice to and illuminates this deeply broken and corrupt system and gives me hope that I can push and advocate for systems change within my role. Or at the very least be an outspoken advocate for those whose lives have been destroyed through abuses of justice.

Illuminating & Necessary Listening!
Came over from My Favorite Murder. This is a fantastic podcast. The audio production is good too thank god. Terrifying how people can be victimized and swallowed up by such an imperfect justice system. Much has to change. Oh and the one star reviews are so clearly politically motivated. 🙄

Rayshard brooks
In the case of rayshard brooks it was a legal shooting. Rayshard took an officer to the ground took his taser tased him then ran off with the taser stopping to aim at the other officer when he was then shot.

Abuse of power
The vast majority of people have no idea how easy it is to be falsely arrested, over charged or even falsely convicted. It is long past due that a light be shined to illuminate the scope and scale of the this problem. If it can happen to your neighbor it can happen to you. Thanks for making an effort to be part of the beginning of a solution.

I am learning so much
I've found it hard to listen to most podcasts. I'm really enjoying yours. The fact that you sound like Alan Alda to me is cool too.

Amazing & heart braking
This podcast is so good and I can’t stop listening but it’s painful to listen to the injustices. The narrators are both great speakers and easy to listen to.

Great, but...
I would love for you to name names to hold people accountable. For example, Kimberly Long’s original defense attorney. The more the public is aware of this problem, the less likely those in the justice system will abuse power with impunity. Also, can you speak about civil suits for wrongful convictions? And you mention prosecutors are never prosecuted, but why? Thank you. Great podcast.

Great podcast!
I decided to listen to this podcast after hearing about it on My Favorite Murder. This is a really interesting inside look at how the criminal justice system works.

Keep on keepin’ on
Listening to you two - and loving you - on MFM and so looking forward to binging your pod.....love all the things you have to say about how to be a ‘better juror’ and I just have to add this: The problem is systemic far beyond our criminal justice system, to my mind it begins in our education system. With higher education becoming harder and harder for the average citizen to obtain, critical thinking MUST be taught in high school. Because all the problems you two discussed about jurors not properly doing their jobs comes down to the lack of capability to engage in critical thought. And America is largely incapable of critical thought due to the failure of our public education and the controlling factors of government who want to keep the populace uniformed so they are easily controlled and profited off of. So yeah, rant over and thank you both for all you do. One impressed listener

How many calories I burned rage walking while listening to this podcast. Thank you both for sharing these cases and especially thankful to those who are willing to share their stories.

Eye opening
I really love this podcast! I did not have much faith in our justice system in the first place but after listening to this what little faith in it I had has been destroyed.

So good!
I’ve been having a hard time finding some new criminal justice podcasts but am so glad to find this one! I love that it’s one case per episode and really compelling accounts. Can’t wait for more!

Prejudged
This podcast is assuming way too much. Some of these cases have not even had a grand jury yet. Many of the cases have substantial evidence to the contrary of the podcast OPINIONS. While I concede there is a minority of abuse by some bad officers it is often the actions of the so called victim that determines the outcome. Stop making excuses for criminal behavior. Hold your friends, family and community to high standards just as we should the law enforcement community.

Slanted
Some very valid and great points that are watered down with an unnecessary bias. Case in point, the Michael Brown case. If someone tries to take a police officer’s firearm from him or her, there is nothing unjust in the officer shooting that person.

People can be so evil
This is good. Uncovering bad people doing bad things to powerless people. Highly recommended if you can tolerate listening to cheaters and liars getting away with ruining innocent people's lives. The stories told by the people effected make this compelling.

Finally a compelling crim justice show that breaks things down!!
Really excited to hear from the legal team behind the staircase murder. David and Sonia are the real deal! The preview episode is super compelling. We need more shows that break down why the criminal justice system is a complete and total failure focused entirely on punishment not rehabilitation!

a very important new show

Powerful
The stories and perspectives from these civil rights, law enforcement, and cultural leaders are timely as we continue to deal with the devastating impact of systematic racism. Thank you for sharing these reflections of struggle, and of hope.

Devastating stories told beautifully
It can be hard to hear the stories since they’re so sad, but they need to be heard and they’re told beautifully.
