Popularly known as PROFESSOR RIPFACE, Yohannes is a Toronto born and raised musician, born to Jamaican parents. His music is greatly influenced by his father who was a multi-instrumentalist and sensational musician. Yohannes was intrigued at a very young age by the wonderful sounds and melodies his father would create with his instruments. Ultimately, this led to his appeal for music and sounds. After losing his father to cancer in 2018, Yohannes became more propelled to go into music full-time.In 2020, Yohannes entered the music industry with the artist name “Professor Ripface.” He believed that this name would best describe the mix of both his personalities. “Professor”portrays the side of Yohannes that enjoys learning, reading, and mastering new skills. “Ripface” represents his street side which is raw, uncensored and unapologetic. Professor Ripface dropped his debut single, "Money Right," on all streaming platforms inApril 2020. Later that year he released his first EP titled“Energia.” His EP consists of five songs full of personal life experiences, dynamic sounds, soothing melodies, and a lot ofenergy. In early January of 2021, the video to “Money Right" premiered on YouTube. After the release of his first official video, he had his first billboard posted in Toronto. His single “Money Right” has been featured on major platforms such as Worldstarhiphop.com, Torontorappers.com and Upn6xt Media.Professor Ripface is embraced and acknowledged by other artists in the industry and even received a special shout out by this favorite artist, "Jadakiss."Yohannes understands his essence as a musician and continues to evolve by constantly working on developing himself and his craft. He is passionate about giving the world refreshing and energetic music. He also enjoys sharing his life experiences with his audience and hopes to inspire people who are faced with similar challenges.
