In this episode of A Soft Mess, Bare and Michaela get a chance to ask a local queer therapist questions about how we connect and form relationships with people. Talking about Attachment Theory is so important. So here's a conversation to start you off. Our guest, Lyndsey Lyons (she/her/hers) is a polyamorous, queer therapist living in Boulder, Colorado. She works with individuals and couples in various relationship configurations to form and maintain loving connections in their lives. She believes that relationships are one of the most powerful tools we have in healing. Her journey to support others began with her own process of healing trauma and learning to embrace secure attachments in her life. Lyndsey practices Diane Poolheller's Somatic Attachment work along with Stan Tatkin's attachment focused therapy for couples. In addition to her private practice at the Love, Sex, and Gender Center, she is also a Psychedelic Therapist at Innate Path, a clinic utilizing medicine assisted therapy for trauma healing. Lyndsey spends much of her free time with her partner, pup, and friends - often while plotting ways to help reduce sexual shame, dismantle toxic systems, and practice authentic connection. // To support the creation of A Soft Mess Podcast, leave a review on iTunes and share your favorite episode with a friend or three!
