“Some day, I’m going to be a star… a star… a star…” The film business provides an abundance of opportunity, whether you work on the talent side or the production side. In today’s episode we are joined by Steve “Frosty” Houle, who is a prominent set decorator and designer in the Vancouver film industry for 30 years. To name some of the many of the projects he has worked on, Steve was the on-set dresser the year the art department won a Golden Globe award for Season 4 of X-Files. He has also worked on the live-action Scooby-Doo movies, Supernatural, and Man in the High Castle to name a few other heavy hitters. We discuss:

• How Steve fell into the film industry, otherwise known as the “Last Great Circus on Earth”
• Some of the main ways of how someone can get into the film industry: 1) work as a Production Assistant and work your way up, or 2) go to school for film to be a creator
• Some realities of the Circus that people need to be aware of 
• Why things such as communication, co-operation, and respect are vitally important when working in the film industry
• Practical tips: be prepared for long days, ebbs and flows with work, and “unique” characters/colleagues
