Have you ever felt a tingling sensation that slowly spreads its way across your scalp in response to some event or sound? If you have, you have probably also listened to or watched ASMR videos on Youtube. ASMR is an acronym for autonomous sensory meridian response, a term coined by a woman named Jennifer Allen in 2010. It is not a medical term, but a nickname Allen gave to a feeling that she - and many other people around the world - would sometimes get.
