Endometriosis, IVF & Becoming a Mother at 41 with Tracey Ahern
On today's episode, we are joined by Tracey Ahern. We chat about endometriosis, infertility, IVF, and becoming a mother at 41.  Dr Tracey Ahern is mum to Jorja (11 years) and wife to Aaron.  She holds a PhD in Nursing, and is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Healthcare Sciences.  She is a Registered Nurse and Registered Queensland Teacher.  She has a love for learning and is an advocate for improving health outcomes for people in rural areas.  Tracey shares her experiences with her diagnosis of endometriosis, and how that impacted her ability to have children with her first husband. Tracey then found love again, and embarked on another IVF journey. This time, after a couple of rounds of IVF, Tracey and her husband, Aaron, were successful, and welcomed their daughter, Jorja, into the world. They did try further IVF cycles after Jorja was 6 months old, however due to age and egg quality, they were unsuccessful. Tracey shares with us her experience of becoming a mother in her 40's, and how that has shaped her outlook on parenthood.  Tracey leaves us with a few parting words of wisdom. She discusses egg freezing at a younger age, so that egg quality is higher, and there is less stress when it comes to completing an IVF cycle. We thank Tracey for being so honest and sharing her story.  Please find below a resource for endometriosis.QENDO - https://www.qendo.org.au/Now go on and, SPREAD YOUR SPARKLE!Find us at:Insta -https://www.instagram.com/alife.thatsparkles/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/A-Life-That-Sparkles-102649095785159Facebook community group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/428937678967338Tik Tok - https://www.tiktok.com/@alife.thatsparkles?lang=en
