Actually, all of John’s epistles are warnings. Ever since the church was born, false teachers, heretics, and others have sought to unravel and undermine the work of The Church. John calls out names here and instructs his kids. Ironically, we still need to heed the very words today. John is serving up love for us today. We are incapable of the truest love without the Author of Love. God created love. It’s His very essence.

What the Church needs now is love, God’s Love. To paraphrase a hit from the last century, we need to admonished today like John spoke in the 1st century. The Church is still working on loving each other. Jesus said the world would know Him if we love each other, not if we love the world. This is a bit of a dive into the pool of love. 1 John 4:7-21. John the Apostle breaks it down to loving or lying. There is a source for each and it is not the same. You are either the child of God or Satan. There’s no middle ground.
