A House Divided Against Itself
"A house divided against itself can not stand" a quote I originally thought came from Abraham Lincoln in his speech addressing the division in the country back in 1858, but it is actually a quote from Jesus. Mark 3:24-25 " If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. "And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." Now as a Church we are building God's kingdom here on earth, but I can't help but notice that there can be division in the Church. In today's podcast I look at some of the reasons why there can be division in the church, as well as ways to address this division and share ways to build unity instead.

Claiming The Promises Of God.
Have you ever been in a church service, and the pastor starts talking about walking in the promises of God? Did you ever think to yourself this all sounds great, but how do I claim or walk into God’s promises; you’re not alone. I remember sitting in countless services being told that the Bible is full of God’s promises, but not knowing how to claim them or "walk in them" as the pastor would say. In today's episode I share what I've learned in how to actually claim or walk in what God has promised you.

How Is God's Word Received In Your Heart?
In today's episode I cover the parable of the sower. If you are unfamiliar, the parable of the sower is a parable that Jesus taught, about how people hear/receive God's word. It is told in three books of the bible Matthew, Mark, and Luke. As I was reflecting on it I realized that at one point I had been or even can be like all the examples listed from the parable. And so Today, I take some time to break down each of the examples in the parable, and give example from my own life of the varies ways I have received God's word into my heart.

How Do We Give God Our Attention?
Recently I had decided to read the Bible from beginning to end, and I had just started the book of Exodus when the story of Moses and the burning bush caught my attention. If you are unfamiliar with the story God uses a burning bush to get Moses's attention in order to tell him how He plan to use him to set the Israelites free. I then started thinking about how God will often try to get our attention, but we often ignore Him, because we have so many different things fighting for our attention. So in this podcast I dive a little bit deeper into the story of the burning bush to learn how we can give God more of our attention.  During my studying for this podcast I came across a really good article by Pastor David Mathis of Cities Church. I will provide the link below. https://www.citieschurch.com/sermons/who-has-your-attention

What Triggers Your Responses?
In this episode I talk about how we receive feedback. I don't know about you, but I use to typically always associated it with negative comments, or someone just wanting to rain on my parade. However, after reading "Thanks for the Feedback" by Douglas Stone & Shelia Heen I began to realize that receiving feedback well is crucial to our improvement. In today's show I talk about some of the various topics, and themes addressed in the book.

How Clear Is Your Vision?
In February this year I had the opportunity to preach my very first sermon at Love RedeeMe Ministry lead by Pastor Larnell Cheatham.  The title of my sermon was "How Clear Is Your Vision?", and with this episode I would like to share this message with you. In this episode I discuss not only the importance of having vision for your life, but the importance of having a clear vision for your life.  By sharing with you the things that can potentially cloud your vision, sharing the benefits that having a clear vision provides, and by giving you some biblical principles to help you set a clear vision for your life.  Below is a link to Love RedeeMe Ministry's YouTube channel.  "https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDqNNtUJk8H7dfcJwTT9qDw"
