Two Games In
We're back with another game-week review, but first, we bear some news from back home. The Super Eagles just announced their new boss and Magnus and Ikenna are sizing him up for the gargantuan task at hand. Over In Europe, maybe Noni Madueke might be the guy he thinks he is, but he's definitely public enemy #1 in Wolverhampton right now. Three goals for Real Madrid against Valladolid and Ikenna still isn't convinced. Girona was on the wrong end of a three-goal defeat though and it's already looking spooky. But not for Celta Vigo, who's looking to steal that European spot. PSG definitely don't look like they have a midfield crisis, and maybe Leverkusen's undoing all their bad karma from 2000 and 2002. Neither Magnus nor Ikenna had Erling Haaland on their fantasy teams, so they weren't too happy with FPL this week. But we're just 2 games in though. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/97football/support

Give It Time ft. Ehis
Our old friend Ehis joins Magnus on this bonus episode where they table some Blue matters. Chelsea's new boss, Enzo Maresca, singled out Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell in the past week's press conferences, then brutally addressed the whispers about his squad's size. Ehis reacts to Maresca's pressers and how Chelsea are handling player outgoings in the new regime, while uncovering a trend in the Blues' youth development system that dates beyond the Boehly era. Ehis is tired of seeing the Conference League account in his club's comments, but hey... na turn by turn. Just gotta give it time. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/97football/support

Back With A Bang
Club football come back with a bang, and we bring you our first weekly review. Poch got appointed as the USMNT manager and we’re wishing Angel Gomes a speedy recovery. Ikenna and Magnus both happy with their teams’ wins, but Ikenna still has some issues with his Blancos, while Barcelona had to sneak three points from the Mestalla. We were so disappointed with Eze’s disallowed goal, though we were quite impressed with Brighton’s Fabian Huerzler. In France, it looks like PSG might have someone coming for their throne. We also looked at our Fantasy Premier League teams. Magnus is chilling at the top of the 97 Fantasy League, but he was furious at a rather underwhelming opening weekend in Italy. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/97football/support

Fan Diaries - 2024/25 Preview
Our first edition of Fan Diaries sees us interview fans of the big six Premier League clubs, right before the season gets rolling. Manchester City fan Koseku is chilling going into the season, still on a high from the 2023 UCL win but ready as ever to do the usual normal. Jamil joins Ikenna in the Manchester United corner as they break down Erik ten Hag's setup and chances going into the season. Chelsea fans may be confused but Al-Ameen still has high expectations for his blues. And Gabby's already seen a lot of their new boss Enzo Maresca, so she can smell what he's cooking. Liverpool fan Emelie still doesn't fully trust the strange face he sees on the dugout just yet, but the new season excitement fully remains. Arsenal fan Gbenga is ready to be hurt again at the chance of Premier League glory, and Kalu wants Arteta to fine-tune some details in the Gunners' attack. A familiar voice returns on this episode, as Daye shares his excitement about his young Tottenham Hotspurs side under Ange Postecoglou. There's something for everyone. 00:26 Manchester City 19:50 Manchester United 33:05 Chelsea 47:51 Liverpool 1:01:30 Arsenal 1:15:06 Spurs --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/97football/support
