This is a really informative and different podcast. Some very fascinating work/job stories. I wouldn’t call them interviews, since we never hear the host’s questions to the subject, which makes it feel like they are just telling their story. It’s a nice format. Touching at times and interesting always.

A podcast about people’s jobs...seems like that’s probably been done, right? Definitely not like this. 90,000 Hours reaches in deep to find the emotional core of its subject’s relationship with work. It finds a balance between the gentle conversational tone you’d expect when people talk about their jobs and every worker’s vulnerable yearning to be heard and understood. On the surface, it’s a non-political podcast..but when you dig into someone’s relationship with labor, the subtext is fiercely political. Every one of these remarkable people at some point have come face to face with the basic fact that they’re not special, yet they’re very important. We’re all fundamentally important. Kudos to the creator of this podcast who silently guides the responses of the subjects and edits them into a flowing narrative monologue with musical sonic textures. A++ podcast.
