Get a better audio engineer!
I like the short little interesting science tidbits (when they are actually short. Some of the episodes drag on!) But the audio needs better editing. Guests are always too soft, and the music is too loud. Normalize and compress your audio so we don’t have to turn the volume up and down and up and down!

A few interesting episodes, but COVID-19 updates = yeah!
Every once in a while I found an interesting episode. I like that these are short. But the most benefit I feel like in from listening to these is the two week update of Covid information! That is great & easy to share!

Keep Politics Out
Great ideas but bias.
Short and informative
The show is great for getting bite sized episodes of information
Great podcast
Amazing, but, can you guys put a little more NASA or Space news?
Good huggers

Download fails
The most recent episode I believe is basically called Humans can befriend wolfs can not download
Audio quality
Reverb, somewhat tinny. An inexpensive interview/conference type microphone could correct this.

Said you wouldn’t take a side on politics...
..In the preview of the election coverage then brought on a bunch of one sided guests. Stay out of politics.
Stay out of politics!
Not only is their personal bias evident in their tone, but the to be one sided “doom and gloom” view of a virus with 99.6% survival rate, and lack of discussion of riots/protests linked to covid shows how biased they really are.
Nuggets of knowledge- love it 🔥
I just came across this podcast by pure chance. Most of what I listen to is related to true crime so suggestions are usually related to that. I am soooo glad that we met. I love little doses of scientific facts. I can’t wait to share with my family and friends. Thank you!
Great topics and info. This earns a 5 star rating. Please stop the politics. That drops the rating down to a 1.

Voice talent great but can’t hear in kitchen
Mark Stratton’s voice is wonderful to listen to! But in my kitchen, I can’t really hear him amidst the normal kitchen sounds. Podcasts need to consider who consumes this particular media and how. When typical listener hits play, what else are they doing? Somebody who listens to 60-second science is likely busy doing other things. Is it about the voice talent? Or is it about the audience?
Rain finally!
Learn something new every time
Really like this format, bringing new information about a diverse range of topics.
Great Show
Love this podcast. Quick hits on quirky science. Good topics, pitched at a good level, well-written (and read).
Drop the political opinions!!!
I listen to this podcast for quick science hits to stay up to date with what’s happening in the science world.....not political opinions. If the political hits keep coming I’ll unsubscribe and find another podcast for my science needs!
Not Interested In Your Political Opinion or Satire
Stick to the objectiveness that is inherent to science. No one listens to this podcast to hear about your political opinions. The “We’re Being Tested” episode was not science. It was political satire and not even very clever satire at that.
Kane KS
Please don’t speak about politics.
No politics!
No politics!
We’re Being Tested Review
I totally agree with the other reviews I saw related to the We’re Being Tested episode. I listen to this podcast purely for science and will not keep listening if it becomes a political podcast.
We’re Being Tested
Whatever your political affiliation is, I would like to think this is a science based broadcast. I felt this recent episode crossed the political line. Instead of bashing the president for the things he says, explain what he meant scientifically. What is the difference between knowing something exists because we can test for it and not being able to quantify it because we did not test for it? What is the difference in our known positive case levels versus unknown positive cases which weren’t tested? Or another country’s falsely lower levels because they are not testing. Are our levels “higher” because we test? Did we really think the president believes that SARS-CoV-2 only exists because we test for it? Or do we suspect he was trying to insinuate we have more known cases because of more testing versus places who simply don’t know and are not acknowledging their true levels because they are not testing? Use this as an opportunity to discuss statistics and what the testing means and how knowledge and testing affect things. Discuss science. Don’t perpetuate ignorance.

Best Science podcast
Many different science topics Easy to understand a joy to listen. Short length makes it great for my commute. I never am bored.
Used to be purely science
I’ve loved the science over the years, but have grown weary of the political anti-Trump sentiment frequently sprinkled in. I’m done, unsubscribed.
Too Political all of a sudden.
I’ve listen to this podcast for years, put me right to sleep. Now it makes my blood boil..!
Swine Dad
Political cheap shot
What is with them writing a silly political ad? Trump said that testing results in higher case count. They act, on a science podcast, as if he said the cases were caused by the test. If you are that dense I cannot trust the science. Is there no escape from politics?
the last time i listened
Bug obsession
Obsessed with bugs and laced with typical political snark.
English teaching tool
These episodes were great for teaching my advanced adult English students. I could start and stop and rewind and go over great new vocabulary— great subject matter and a fun way to teach an hour-long class!

Long time listener
You are becoming a political podcast. It used to be nice reprieve from the daily wave of BS, but you just couldn’t stay out of the mud. Today’s podcast about Barack Obama endorsing Joe Biden is enough, I’m out. Politics has no place in science, not even when the self proclaimed scientists do it.
Too political
Interesting facts, but it’s gotten too political.
I wish this podcast was every day
I love this podcast but for reasons unknown new shows have not been dropping. It’s my hope that this is temporary because this in an interesting knowledgeable show that has fact based science found using the scientific method not a bit of the sudo science that is found invading the airwaves. That’s why I give it the max 5 stars 🌟 Thanks for the download. But when downloaded automatically or manually on my apple podcast app I could not get the program to play. 😢

Very informative with a side of humor
Scientific American has a stellar reputation so I expected this podcast would be amazing. I love the variety of topics and the way the information is delivered with a touch of humor.
Wait for the pun
Besides providing interesting information in short segments that can easily be a part of a daily routine they always seem to wrap it up in a laudable pun. Well done
remove the ads - will get me back as a listener
quality has been going down the last decade, adding the ads into 69-sec video is a slap in the face. good-bye
i hear it everyday and it give me many information about the science
Science is not politics
That’s the funny thing about science, it’s real whether you believe it or not. Great podcast on ALL things science. And who doesn’t love a good (bad) pun once in a while. Keep it up!
Dr SteveT
Got political, lost a sub
The topics lately are not really science based any longer. It sounds like your PhD student cousin telling you about something.
Odd time
Interesting fun facts
I live for facts that are current in today’s world and this podcast are quick snippets of information that I sprinkle in conversations
Dumped episodes
Either you guys or Apple just dumped 394 previous episodes in my feed. First, please undo it. Second, don’t do this again to listeners and subscribers.
Cool stuff
It’s fun to listen to each episode. I’m learning new things.

About double the “60 Seconds” but worth it
I love the condensed versions of scientific findings and have enjoyed sharing these with my wife, kids, and friends. They have led me to subscribe to the weekly podcast so I could get a bit more detailed background. Keep up the great work!

60 seconds, occasionally
I formally loved this podcast, but now there is more non 60 second posts. The info is good, but not doing what the title of the podcasts says.
Perfect for those who are Inquisitive but Have Short Attention Span
Great bits of interesting stories in easy to digest format. These episodes have led me to research a variety of topics I may not have considered on my own. On my Must-Listen-List.
Pocono Charlie
Great mix of various sciences.
Great mix of various sciences. Tid bits but not just a bit of quick science trivia. The stories are timely and entertaining while being educational.
Good intel in concise snippets
Don’t let the name fool you, the podcast lasts about two to three minutes but always packs an interesting punch. There are plenty of longer science podcasts out there, but they have commercials.
60 it is
I love the terse coverage of topics. I listen to a lot of science podcasts, and this one is always worth the time and attention. Your range of topics is always interesting and so is your delivery. Thanks
Short and Easy to Understand
Love these short episodes, a nice quick summary of a cool science story, always described in a simple manner, wish all science stories could get covered like this.
60s Science, 30 seconds of Ads.
Oof - this podcast needs a new name as it's experimenting with putting 30 seconds of ads at the start of each summary. This on top of the fact that everything by Steve Mirsky is basically flogging a summary of a prior SciAm publication or meeting.
Love it. Absolutely.
In the episode about plants detecting an attack from a distance. Is it possible they get signals from the mycelium they share the soil with?
Love the show too short
At least put several of the same subjects together
longer and more subjects
