Mind, Body, and Spirit: Unlocking the Path to Health and Happiness
The 52 Weeks of Health Equity podcast recently interviewed Rosedale Jones, a Spiritual Coach & Lifestyle Transformalist. Rosedale went from having poor health habits, high stress, poor heart health, being overweight, and close to having a health crisis, to becoming the healthy person she is today. She shares her infectious positivity around the importance of transformation through her own lived experiences changing her life. She discussed the importance of developing the connection between the mind, body, and spirit, the benefits of mindful intention, and the need to set aside time and space for ourselves to create better health and community. When we talk about health equity, it is easy to forget that spirituality, faith, and our beliefs are important parts of our sense of self and belonging. Community and Social Connections are an important part of the social determinants of health. According to Healthy People 2030, “Positive relationships at home, at work, and in the community can help reduce these negative impacts. Interventions to help people get the social and community support they need are critical for improving health and well-being.”  We believe that sharing stories that touch all areas of influence that impact health access and equity will help us all understand better how we can create the changes we need to be healthy individuals and societies. Rosedale Jones is the Founder, and Spiritual Director at Center for Spiritual Living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Let's Talk Health Communication
Recently we had Chelsea Dade the creator of Communicate for Health Justice as a guest on the 52 Weeks of Health Equity podcast. Communicate for Health Justice (CFHJ)™ is a millennial-driven, Black woman-owned communication platform dedicated to mixing health equity and social justice concepts into health communication editorial content and programs. Since operating as a blog in 2019, CFHJ has showcased the work of talented writers representing diverse backgrounds. Each writer creates original copy that prioritizes communication and equity gaps in health communication. Our programs, including but not limited to book discussions and Instagram lives, have explored similar themes. CFHJ creates communications by taking both the history of health inequity and current social movements, like Black Lives Matter, into account. By challenging the traditional way of communicating about health that tends to stop at the surface and operate unidirectionally, CFHJ is a pioneer in the new wave of equitable, socially-conscious health communication. Chelsea, discussed health communication, what that is, and why it matters with us. You can learn more about Communicate for Health Justice (CFHJ)™ at their website located here https://www.cfhj.org/ Don't forget to check out the Conscious By Us website at https://www.consciousbyus.com/ As always, don't forget to subscribe and share. Trailer for 52 Weeks of Health Equity
Trailer for new podcast 52 Weeks of Health Equity.  The show’s purpose is to showcase all the great work by individuals and organizations to create a more diverse and inclusive world that directly or indirectly improves people’s health by creating equity and access. The concept for the podcast grew out of the following: The idea all of us need to be prioritizing healthcare, personal health, the concept of what it means to be healthy, and what we consider wellness differently. That we all need to be better informed and engaged in discussing health, especially those that impact equity. Highlight all the great health equity work people did, not just in healthcare spaces or by healthcare professionals, but also share stories from non-healthcare spaces. Tales from people who were improving our wellness through their activism, their passion, and often just by showing us a different way to envision health. Share stories that we may not automatically connect with health, wellness, and healthcare from creative spaces. Share stories from fields we don’t associate with health equity efforts. Talk with people passionate about the concept of health over wealth acquisition as a way to measure success. Discuss health data in accessible language and how it impacts our lives. #access #accessibility #accomadations #actuallyautistic #ADA #ADHD #advocate #advocacy #ally #allies #ASD #autism #autistic #awareness #badfaith #belonging #bias #Blackhealth #Blackhealthmatters #Blackmaternalchildhealth #BLM #Blackwomen #change #children #childrenhealth #climatechange #community #communityhealth #covid #creative #culture #DEI #difference #discrimination #diversityequityinclusion #doctor #dyslexia #education #embraceneurodiversity #emotionalintelligence #environment #equality #equity #fostercare #gender #globalhealth #harmreduction #health #healthbias#healthaccess #healthcare #healthycommunities #healthdisparity #healthdisparities #healtheducation #healtheducator #healthequality #healthequity #healthforall #healthinequality #healthinsurance #healthiswealth #healthy #healthylife #immigration #impostersyndrome #inequality #inequity #inclusion #insurance #Justice #Justice4All #Law #Lawsuit #Lawyer #Lawyers #Legal #Legally #LGBTQIA #maternalchildhealth #medicine #mentalhealth #microaggressions #mythbusting #neurodiverse #neurodiversity #neurodivergent #newpodcastalert #nurses #nursing #physician #podcast #podcaster #prejudice #pyschologicalsafety #publichealth #publichealthmatters #qualityhealthcare #racism #reducestigma #sexuality#society #socialdeterminantsofhealth #socialjustice #support #transphobia #wellness #women #womenshealth #work #workplace
