I had a question come in from a Team 3CX Photography Community member regarding any tips I have for traveling with nonphotographers.  I think we've all been in this situation where we've been traveling with noncreative people when we are the creative that's interested in shooting and taking time to get the shot while the noncreative is getting a little frustrated. One thing that every photography can benefit from is having a sound understanding of the fundamentals of photography. Knowledge of things like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focus, light, and composition make up the core building blocks of photography. Looking back at my personal photography journey I made one huge mistake. Instead of investing my time and energy into gaining a sound understanding of the fundamentals I just floated along with my photography using trial and error to get by. If you have you'll know how difficult it can be to get a clean shot without all those pesky reflections. Glass is such a reflective surface it can be such a nightmare. But sometimes you just have to take the shot and the fact that you have to shoot through glass can be totally out of your control. The most common reasons can be that you can't open the window from your high rise hotel room. Or maybe you're on a train or plane where the windows don't open The good news is I have 4 ninja tips that will give you the best chance of jagging that clean reflection free photo shooting through glass. Something that really makes me angry is when I get told by a photographer, "I was told I have to buy insert name of expensive camera gear here to get great images." It really takes the wind out of your sail and makes you feel like you'll never be the photographer you want to be because you can't afford to drop 2k on that new lens. Well, the good news is gear doesn't matter and it's not the key to being a good photographer. The key to taking great photos is pure creativity it's something you can't buy but with practice and persistence, it's something you can learn. OK, rant over! I want to give you my picks for the best portrait lenses you can get on a budget. These lenses are also very commonly sold second hand so that makes it even cheaper to get your hands on them.
