254 Youth Policy Cafe is a policy dialogue forum constituted of 7 Policy Analysts serving in different sectors, formerly Young Professionals at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). The aim of the forum is to engage in policy discourse on youth sensitive policy issues nationally, regionally and internationally. The purpose of this is to enhance effectiveness of public participation of the youth with a view to attaining youth inclusive strategies, legislation, and policies.

This represents the first of a series of conversations on the Building Bridges Initiative Report. The episode focuses on the first stage of the public policy making process which relates to those centered around data collection and particularly public participation required under the Constitution of Kenya. The episode is broken down into the following sections: the background and context for development of BBI; a discussion of effectiveness of public participation; and a summary of issues addressed by the BBI.
