20 Minutes of Sanity: Ryan & Dan on Crazy Maine Polling & Susan Collins' Legacy
20 Minutes of Sanity is back... just when we need it the most. This week, Ryan (a liberal from southern Maine) and Dan (a conservative from northern Maine) talk about the polling averages in the 2020 race. From driving around and talking to the locals, it seems like Maine might be Trump Country, but the polls hint at a virtual landside in the other direction. What's up with that?! And then we tackle the great enigma in Maine political history... Susan Collins' legacy. It's 20 Minutes of Sanity with Ryan Gavin only on Maine Vibe. The internet is a crazy place! Just imagine how many people are wrong on Facebook... and they're commenting on stuff they don't know the first thing about. Every week, Ryan takes 20 minutes to fight back against the people who are wrong online. It' his way of staying sane, and it's more therapeutic than anything else. Hey, even if nobody listens, we'll shoot these podcasts into space so after the apocalypse there'll at least be some truth that survives.

RankED (Not Rank!) Choice Voting is Back, and Susan Collins is in Trouble
Do you know how votes are actually counted with Maine’s Ranked Choice Voting system? It might surprise you… so we break it down. In other Maine news, Susan Collins is having a bad week. Let’s get sane! It’s 20 Minutes of Sanity with Ryan Gavin only on Maine Vibe. The internet is a crazy place! No… You Don’t Get to Vote on That, Fire Hydrants & Maine’s State Flag
This week, Ryan rips apart a couple things… starting with a photo of a Maine State Representative’s car in front of a fire hydrant. Turns out, there are HUNDREDS of people on Facebook who’ve never made a single mistake in their lives, so let’s all pile on! In other news, No, you don’t get to vote on every single law that gets debated in Augusta or Washington. Why, do you ask? Because we don’t live in a Democracy. Shocking, I know! But for real… nobody seems to understand this. They probably won’t listen to this podcast either, so whatever. And finally, Maine’s state flag was in sore need of a refresh, but the “WAIT LEAVE IT ALONE” gang came out in full force with flawed arguments like “there are other more important issues” to derail the effort this year. Here’s why it was a good idea. The internet is a crazy place! Just imagine how many people are wrong on Facebook… and they’re commenting on stuff they don’t know the first thing about. Hey Guys... Asylum Seekers Aren't Illegal Immigrants
The people who are saying that we should “deport the illegals” and who wonder why we’re not “helping our own people first” win the moron of the week award. Asylum seekers are not border-crossing, fence-jumping criminals. In fact, they’re the opposite. The US Government has ALLOWED them into our country to seek asylum under the law. Crazy, right? The things you can learn when you…. I dunno…. read! The internet is a crazy place! Just imagine how many people are wrong on Facebook… and they’re commenting on stuff they don’t know the first thing about.
