Welcome to episode 28 of 2 Grooms 1 Plot! A podcast where two life-long storytellers talk about stories! Today, we broke down the most recent Sci-Fi blockbuster, Dune part 1 and part 2. Dune is based on the original novel written by Frank Herbert. The movies are both directed by Denis Villeneuve and star Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, and many MANY other stars. The story follows Paul Atreides (Chalamet) on the planet Arrakis. Arrakis is home to ‘spice’ - the universe’s most powerful product that makes interstellar travel possible. After being abandoned on Arrakis with his mother, the 2 join the Fremans (Bardem, Zendaya) to help stop the Harkonnen’s from coming to their planet and taking the spice, as well as discovering Paul’s calling as the prophet as a Bene Gesserit. There is SO MUCH that takes place across these 2 films that this description does it no justice. As always, we recommend checking out both these films before watching to truly understand the points that we make as they directly relate to the story (spoiler alert as always!)
