Perfect Interview Podcast
No one does better creator interviews in comics than Jim Viscardi. There are some other incredible podcasts in this space, but I’ve never found myself re-listening to episodes like I do with Let’s Talk Comics. Some crazy talented folks on here, and the questions are always insightful, go a little deeper, come from an understand of craft, and are entertaining. If you love comics, and Image Comics are the best, give this a listen!

Exactly What I’ve Been Waiting For
Let’s Talk Comics has quickly become my most anticipated weekly podcast. Jim is a great interviewer always asking thoughtful inside industry questions with a nice mix of more accessible ones for casual readers as well. With back to back episodes with David Finch and Jason Fabok I finally had to leave a review. The sense of community this show makes me feel like I’m in a private club and everyone is invited.

Deniz Camp interview
Excellent interview with a creator whose work I’ve dissected in recent months, only to find out that he also dissected the young masters of his day. Checked out an issue of Ice Cream Man off the strength of the recommendation, and as I shared in the bittersweet and unfortunately melty joy I realized Camp wrote a page in the same issue as Grant Morrison. So happy to see further and further heights reached base camp to base camp as Deniz climbs comics mountain, and shoutout to the teams behind all of these books in the run he’s been on. From Javier Rodriguez to Eric zawadski and Stipan Morian, Juan Frigeri, and letterers and colorist too like Jordie Bellaire and Hassan Otsmane Elhau it feels like I discover a new legend every time I pick up one of these books. Fingers crossed for another Stipan Collaboration inshallah

A Masterclass in comics disguised as a conversation
As someone who’s always loved comic books but recently started exploring the idea of creating my own graphic novel, Let’s Talk Comics has been an absolute game-changer. Every episode feels like a breath of fresh air—part deep-dive interview, part casual conversation among people who live and breathe the medium. Jim Viscardi does an incredible job pulling back the curtain on the creative process. It’s not just a Q&A—it’s storytelling about storytelling. The guests open up in a way that feels honest and unfiltered, sharing not only their work, but how they think, create, and evolve. Since discovering the podcast, I’ve made it a point to read at least one series from every creator featured. It’s become a ritual—listen, get inspired, then dive into their work. Each episode leaves me not just entertained, but genuinely motivated to keep working on my own ideas. I’ve discovered some incredible series thanks to the show: That Texas Blood by Chris Condon hooked me with its slow-burn noir storytelling; The Silver Coin by Michael Walsh is horror at its finest; Ultimate Wolverine by Deniz Camp was a fascinating twist on a familiar character; and Bug Wars, Radiant Black, and We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us are now all on my must-read list. Whether you’re a longtime fan or an aspiring creator, this podcast isn’t just worth your time—it might just change the way you think about comics.

Let’s Talk!
I am a wannabe comic illustrator. I am currently in the process of trying to launch issue 1 of my own comic. This show is wonderfully inspiring to people like me who lack the knowledge to walk in the best direction to creating. I understand that isn’t the main purpose of this Show but unfortunately it is so incredibly thorough in the interviews with these creators that it can’t help but teach and inspire! I love talking comics and getting creative insider info but to also walk someone through another’s career in making comics is such a wonderful learning experience! I thank Jim for making this podcast happen and unintentionally inspiring me to work harder and reach higher for my dream! Honestly thank you isn’t enough. I wish I could subscribe twice! Haha

Interesting discussions though the questions are quite long
I’m enjoying the different discussions with so many interesting creators. It would be even better with questions that are less meandering. You can tell sometimes a creator is trying to respond but the Q keeps going and going. And for some reason every other Q includes the phrase “in a sense” lol. But even if the interview style doesn’t change, I’ll still keep listening.🙂

Comics!
I’ve followed Jim and his team since Comicbooks. I always get my comic information for him! Now that there’s a podcast, I mean that’s perfect. There’s always so much information you never think about when it comes to putting some stories together and bringing them to life! If you enjoy comics and the background of them (especially hearing it from their creators) then this is for you!

It’s back.
I remember listening to this a few years ago when I was living in the states. I Love this pod, Mr. Viscardi is knowledgeable about all the aspects of the creators and is smart enough to let them talk, without unnecessary interruptions. I love that he (Jim) asks them how-to questions, he understands that the Audience is interested on “breaking-in” and the creator’s path from the beginning.

An unexpected find in the world of comics
I don’t usually have the patience to sit through anything longer than 15 minutes, but somehow, I find myself fully locked in for hour-plus episodes of this podcast. That alone says a lot. Growing up, I always loved comics, but I never really thought about the people behind them—the writers, artists, editors, and everyone else who makes the industry work. Viscardi has completely changed that for me. His podcast doesn’t just highlight the stories on the page; it pulls back the curtain on the craft itself, showing just how intricate, personal, and fascinating the creative process is. Hearing his guests talk about their journeys, influences, and approaches to storytelling has made me appreciate comics on an entirely different level. And a big part of why this works is Viscardi himself—he’s not just throwing out questions for the sake of it. He listens. He engages. The conversations flow naturally because he actually cares about what his guests have to say, and that makes all the difference (or to me at least). If you’re into comics, storytelling, or just love hearing passionate people talk about what they do, this is a must-listen.

Keep up the good work. Loving the interviews so far. One critique, the audio is low. I crank it up anyways! Thanks

Gateway to Indie Comics
I wasn’t familiar with the original version of this show (however many years ago that was), so I’m listening to this was no previously conceived feels. That being said, it’s a wonderful entry point for people curious of the biggest movers in independent comics! Both informative and conversational, the rapport between host and guest is a delight! It’s not complicated folks! It’s really good stuff here! Something for everyone here! Highly recommend!

Worth a listen! Great peak behind the curtains of the comic book industry
Great new (and returning) podcast focused on comic creators and their inspirations behind many books we love and enjoy. It is refreshing to take a deeper dive into the behind the scenes creative process and hear stories and influences that shaped the characters and stories we have come to love. The relaxed vibe of the interviews makes you feel like you’re sitting with friends talking comics. It’s been a joy and looking forward to hearing more.
