Good interview but why isn’t anyone talking about the IN?

Isikoff’s voice is shrill, he laughs at inappropriate times and talks too fast.I would much rather listen to Jeff whose ego doesn’t dominate the show.

Pretty much follows “Failsafe” too much to be called “ original”. Suicide, glitch in the system, sacrificing a family member”, general is trying to talk president to attack. At the end of the credits, “Failsafe” used a dial tone. In Dynamite” at the end of the credits, they used explosions. It just can’t be coincidental. I think it’s called plagiarism. Even a happily ever after would’ve changed things! Lol.

The host and the majority of guests are shills, to the bone, for the establishment intelligence point of view with very little objective analysis or reality. If that is what you are looking for then, you have found it. Enjoy.

If the host of a podcast on intelligence cannot recall Edward Snowden’s name while talking to a former CIA officer perhaps he should retire. The fact that you did not even try to edit out the blank memory moment tells me this is not a very tight ship operation.

Please keep at it Steve. Non-steady staters feel the threat too and want to hear what you have to say.

Think it used to be decent…I followed for a reason. However, recently has turned to nothing but overtly left wing political junk.

Love Jeff and now Michael Isikoff! they know their stuff and learn something from every episode. Best of all, both have an amusing and appropriate sense of humor.

This guy is a tool of the Dems. Can’t possibly be apolitical and stick to espionage. Has guys like Weiner on here bashing Trumps national security appointees but neither of these geniuses had an issue with the morons that have been in Joe Bidens cabinet for 4 years. No national security concerns about the wide open border with millions of unknowns walking right in. These people live in left field.

Came for intelligence and spy talk but got progressive political views instead.

The leftist politics that’s spewed from this host and his guests are mind blowing. I unsubscribed from this cesspool filled with leftist propaganda. If you are looking for a podcast in the spies category, go elsewhere. There are other much better podcasts without any of the leftist propaganda being constantly spewed like sewage flowing into a waterway that this podcast is so good at doing.

You lost me with the repeated complaints about classified info not being divulged to the public

To cover this book and go for more than 45 minutes without one mention of CA Rep Eric Swalwell is a disservice to the US intelligence service. The condescending tone used to scold low to midlevel service men falling for these foreign intelligence gatherers is nowhere to be found when it comes to a Chinese National who successfully manipulated a current sitting US Government Office Holder. Similar reviews on other subjects found if one reads the comments Its a shame to have a show that leaves so much off the table for whatever the reasons. Jeff the host, has the experience and trade craft to know the appearance this omission creates. Too bad, expected more

If adult education in the most important background info in the world, then Jeff’s guests and Jeff’s questioning brings out the truth of the real issues in the world. Literally what all media good shows ought to consist of. Give really good guests who’ve had careers in intelligence, who’ve written reports, know how to prosecute or know how prosecution of crime must go on, Jeff gets into the main difficulties, and guests offer truly the best background info. Especially ex intel community and FBI, etc, people. Literally the best show, my go to show, daily, the content is so adult education valuable And people should subscribe to Jeff’s substance, I gladly do. And I buy the books of the his best guests, they are the best adult education one can continue to do in life.

I listened to one interview and was done. The mocking tone of Jeff Stein when it comes to CIA and the absence of intelligent analysis was enough for me.

Thoughtful show, I look forward to it. Being informed does not mean smart. While I don’t think everything Carl Ford said should be gospel, it’s clear there is a problem and if Gail Helt’s stubborn delusion is shared at the national level then… we are in trouble. But we knew that already.

I enjoyed the first part of the episode “Broken” highlighting the strength of the INR and needs for reform across the IC. The second part left much to be desired. It featured mainstream media echo-chamber talking points which demonize the whole political right with fringe right-wing extremists. Y’all are hypnotized by and perpetuate a politically-driven race narrative which creates more problems than it solves. The interviewer nor the guest touched on LEFT-wing extremist groups such as ANTIFA, whose activities were more common between 2017-2020, or recent threats by pro-abortion groups like “Jane’s Revenge” protesting SCOTUS overturning R v Wade.

Chock full of tidbits, gossip & history. Very low key but very informative & fun.

Relevant content great guests. Jeff Stein needs to be a better communicator and interviewer, talks over guest way too much and tries to inflect his past relevance in the industry.

In listening to the episode - Going Mental, A portion of the discussion Included supporters of Trump -The spin was we must all be mind controlled To be a supporter of Trump. You included racism, white supremacy, etc.And I talked about the Republicans…. I’m getting a feeling you have a mind-control issue -Not realizing the Democrats continually support issues that divide our country! Very disappointed!

Excellent quality! Probably the best podcast you never heard. The information is far more in depth and articulate on the major issues of the day, brought to light with guest interviews that are more telling than your average show. Thanks for all your efforts!

This has quickly become my favorite podcast. The topics covered are relevant and fascinating. The hosts are very knowledgeable and easy to listen to. I look forward to each new episode.

I wish this would drop twice weekly.

Really juicy and in-depth. All the questions you’d want asked get asked. Also love how the interviewer knows many of the background context and subtle references mentioned by the guests.

I recently found this podcast and now I don’t want to miss any episodes. Thank you for your service and your interesting and educational podcast. As a life long curious person, this is now one of my favorites.

Really appreciate the team’s interviews and coverage. Jeff’s previous case officer experience allows for great discussions as well as the co-hosts ability to ask hard questions from their guests. Topics are top notch and relevant to Natsec viewers.

The content of this show is absolutely phenomenal, and it pains me to leave a three star review. But the audio quality on the show makes some of the episodes unbearable. The decibel level of the subjects being interviewed is so low it requires the volume to be turned all the way up, and then the intro music or narrators voice comes blasting in nearly exploding your eardrums. Additionally, two consecutive episodes will have completely different audio levels, so going from one to the next nearly blows out your speakers. Please, for the love of God, hire an audio engineer who knows how to use a compressor, EQ, and limiter. Low audio quality, at a time when mixing/mastering software is so readily available, is simply unacceptable.

This is a wonderful insight into subjects I’ve always been intrigued by with facts and opinions from more informed knowledgeable people than I.

I loved Jeanne’s talk with Mike Rogers on the future of intelligence and geopolitics. A unique window into the world of the watchers. Jeff and Jeanne are watching the watchers.

What a treat to have two great and accomplished journalists engaging experts in candid, provocative conversations about the issues that deserve thoughtful consideration. Loved every second of this podcast and I can’t wait to see who they speak with next and what issues they serve up!
