MAGA will maintain control of the House, by hook or crook or coup d'état pick your poison. Moreover, if DSA is not put to bed, the Dems will lose on a straight up vote. MAGA is awfully calm and ill-behaved for a party going into an election without a plan. They have their bean counters too. Again, MAGA does not poll; plenty of evidence for this. Ask TX Sen. For as much as Murphy talks about Mamdani, he should try to get his name right! Good grief, it’s MAM-DANI…not MON-DAMI..feels very much on purpose coming from a campaign guy who doesn’t struggle with other names..it’s annoying. And since all of the Mamdani backed candidates won, I’m sure you’ll keep talking about him.

I listen to this podcast to hear Axelrod update all the conventional Democrat talking points and to be reminded how clueless the Democrats and political class are about the cultural issues that keep Trump competitive and the Democrats hobbled.

Why bother to have guests when you ask them 3 minute questions and then cut them off after 10 seconds of trying to answer? Heilemam, who thinks he’s a comedian, is the biggest offender, with Axelrod, equally unfunny, not far behind. If you cut the lame attempts at humor and just give us your political insight, and allow your guests to speak, I would live to resubscribe.

All the reviews complain about him for a reason.—> Murphy is terrible as well, it’s every Republican stereotype and he’s constantly pitching his clients. This is why the future is not going to be easy, people like this think their awful ideas work with a more seemly leader. All evidence to the contrary.

How can things change? Will the house speaker accept the midterm results and seat the newly elected? I want to hear you guys talk about what if the election is messed with beyond what you imagine. And bring on a guest who studies this kind of thing

Not a good look for a white male (Murphy) — and for a guy who’s supposed to be up on his facts — to be so ignorant of the (yes, Mike) dismantling of the Voter Rights Act. Your entitlement shows when you say you’re not worried about the racial fallout — that you actually think people of color can still bring voter suppression claims. At least Axelrod corrected him. But really, you co-host a podcast about political developments — a platform which one would think included political effects of an unconstitutional SCOTUS ruling. Do your homework — for goodness sake, it was all over the news.

I’ve been listening to political podcasts for years now and this one is still my favorite. To repeat the past reviewer I’d love to hear from Bruce Mehlman. Also, if there’s a way you can infiltrate the Democratic party to keep them from choosing far left socialist candidates in 2028 that would be great. I can’t handle another 4 years of Maga.

I love this podcast, and I’ve listened to it for years. I am almost to the point of not listening if Heilemann is part of it. He literally interrupts people constantly and takes a long, long time to “set up” a question to either the guests or David/Mike. It’s just dreadful. It’s getting awkward too because you can tell sometimes David and Mike try to get him to the question (or his point) faster, but he literally can’t read the room. John - Stop talking so much. Stop interrupting. Please make more concise points and ask your questions better. Otherwise, you’re going to lose another long-time listener.

I love this podcast but whenever Heillman is on he nearly ruins it. He repeats himself endlessly, and answers questions addressed to guests when he isn’t interrupting them. He also answers questions Axe and Murphy address to each other. And he knows nothing I can’t read in the NYT. Murphy and Axe bring huge expertise and experience to all they say. And they are respectful to each other. Axe’s impatience with Heillman just makes it worse since he doesn’t or can’t shut him down.There will come a time not too long from now when I’m going to tune out whenever Heillman is on. If he’s on a lot that will be the end of it for me. And I love all other parts of this podcast.

A long time listener because of the funny but serious and experienced analysis of Axe and Murph… John recently has created a hyped up schizophrenic pace to the conversation that’s cynical and uninformative. Love the show and will keep listening, but I hope a producer or him(!) sees this note and has him take a breath.

Too many episodes without Mr. Murphy recently. He has a way of bringing his bloviating co-hosts down to earth.

Unlistenable. Just drones on and on. I can’t stand it anymore. Why have a guest if you never let him talk?

This is truly one of my favorite podcasts. However, the over the top endorsement of Quince is nothing but a rip off. I’m sure if they knew they would drop them like a hot potato. On Axelrod’s glowing recommendation I ordered a cashmere sweater. It took two weeks to get here from China and instead of the large I ordered I got a miss marked children’s sweater. OK fine mistakes happen but trying to return it is an impossibility. It makes me wonder if they really check out their sponsors. A huge two thumbs down for this one. Axe, you’ve dropped a couple notches on my esteem scale.

Mike Murphy lit a pile of money on fire in 2015 and shouldn’t be considered a serious political operative at this point. His predictions are always wrong, his quips aren’t funny, and his haircut is embarrassing.

Always a pleasure to listen to these political insiders give us the low-down about current affairs. And they laugh a lot!!

When its Axe, Murph and Heilemann, I’m into it. And sometimes they have good guests. But other times - like this week’s episode - the guests suck. Billy Begala is talentless nepo baby and the only reason we have to sit through this is because his father - who himself is becoming quite the bore, worked for a president thirty years ago. Be better.

Heilemann repeats himself so much that he is not listenable. His verbal habits come across as attempts to fill time.

Super fan feedback: please don’t ever rebook Scott Jennings … it’ll be the first episode I won’t listen to. LUV the show!

I am listening to the Jan 13, 2026 podcast. Someone needs to tell David Azeris to stop talking so much and talking over points they are in the middle of making. I know he is not a professional on air talent but god let others talk.

This is my go to podcast for insightful analysis of our current political landscape. While it's a smart show, the hosts never talk down to the listeners. It's like you are at a bar with friends taking about current events.

Axelrod and Murphy are by far the best Political Commentary available by Podcasts, particularly their coverage of the Very few other Podcasts can leave their personal ideology out of their programming. There’s a reason they have managed successful Presidential Campaigns. Add Heilman and guests like Ron Brownstein and you get one of the top two or three best Political podcasts around. Inspite of Axelrids attacks on my President Joe Biden.

Best political talk show around. Thoughtful commentary from experienced and successful politicos( Hacks). David Axelrod is always sage and Mike Murphy’s Murphyisms are hilarious. My only critique is a 1hr show is wholly inadequate for these esteemed bloviators. Come on guys, find the time for 2hrs weekly.
