I’ve enjoyed this podcast to some extent, but some big inaccuracies in the Diesel-Bret episode. Jim Cornette has never said the Montreal Screwjob was a work. He’s rejected that view clearly. On the Screwjob, Goldberg, etc. this episode was full of mistakes.

In the span of 30 seconds one of these two gentlemen advises he has never heard of Buzz Sawyer or Gary Hart and has no clue what JTex is good luck gentlemen. Im gonna unsub here and check out that Mid-Atlantic podcast.

This used to be a great podcast in beginning, then they had a stretch where it was just Tom and Jeff breaking down a match without guest, and they spent majority of it just crying and complaining Hot the industry today isn’t like the Attitude Era or Monday Night War period. It’s kind of pathetic and repetitive that this is what this podcast hast become after so much promise.

I think the podcast has improved without the guests. A match that has wrongfully gotten no love is Flyin’ Brian vs. The Z-Man, WrestleWar’92. What say you?

Used to love the show. Don’t really care about marks just geeking out over the match however

Got turned onto this show by listening to one of The Podfather’s many shows. Love the concept and the interesting insights your guests have provided. I held off on rating and reviewing because of the break. I was afraid the show had ended! I’m steadily working through the archives and haven’t been disappointed. Keep up the tremendous work!

When the podcast started I was really intrigued. The idea is good and the hosts are entertaining. Unfortunately, they stopped watching the match at all with the guest, the hosts have obviously grown weary of each other and are not “vibing” well. The worst though is that they just pimp their premium “after show” the whole time. They bring up an interesting idea or angle and then defer to the after show! If you have an interesting take, give it! That’s why we listen! Too bad. Unsubscribed...

Once I heard Conrad give his endorsement I said I’m going to check it out.I like to thank you both for not booking wrestling shows every week that is getting exhausting.You guys have a really different podcast I listen to over 100 podcasts fifty of them are wrestling an you are in the top 5.Keep up the good work.This is a five star show.I will be anticipating your show every Monday.

Gave it a shot based on the advertising they did on the JR pod. Concept is cool, but they are brutal. Every match is 9.7 stars out of 10. Every guest was fantastic. Each episode was their best yet. Just because you keep explain the format, doesn’t make the content any better. My time with this pod is over.

Heard it recommended on Grilling JR. Gave it a listen and absolutely love it! Love breaking down one specific match. Deep dives without the five hour podcast!

Came highly recommended by Conrad Thompson and Jim Ross from Grillin JR, and I have no regrets. I enjoyed the first episode and how they breakdown the matches they focus on, along with the guests. Great job guys. Keep up some amazing episodes. Love to hear more of the classic matches.

The show overall is a great concept and the guy doing it sounds like a real fan. It was cool to hear him get excited for seeing some old school stuff he wasn’t really aware of due to being younger. I had highs hope for the Tully/Magnum Match, which is a top 2 all time match of mine, but when it came time to “watch along with Magnum”, they didn’t even talk about the match! They talked about a bunch of stuff but nothing about the match. Was really a let down. Was gonna give one star, but there is a lot of work put into getting the timeline down and all that and having a big name on the show is cool as well. Just for me, the part that I was really looking for, which I thought was the point of the show, wasn’t delivered.

This podcast is beyond the shadow of a doubt 1 of the best podcasts in the world.

I really like the format of the show definitely interesting it will definitely be put in to circulation with all the podcasts Conrad does Steve Austin show and the Cornette podcasts that I listen to.

Outstanding fun

This is not like other wrestling podcasts, it’s unique and so much fun. Tom and Jeff are doing a great job breaking down iconic matches with the people involved in those matches. It taps into the nostalgia of wrestling instead of focusing on the current product and makes for a super entertaining time. If you are a wrestling fan now, or ever were in the last 20 years you should give this a listen and chances are you’ll enjoy it and get some smiles.

Cool concept. I dug the the smart mark perspective of the matches and the build up and complete story. Keep up the great work guys!

5 stars because I love wrestling pods and it’s very smart to sponsor Conrad Thompson so he can advertise it. That certainly got me to subscribe. It does need work, especially audio quality. Connie has me used to marathon podcasts too so the 40-50 minutes you guys got seems a little rushed and huffed. It’s ok to slow down and evenly distribute information in a calmer manner. It’s exciting to have a wrestling show so I understand the haste. All in all, this show has great potential. I’d say invest in better sound equipment, also pace it nicer and there’s nowhere but up from there. Cheers to you and will be listening each Monday :)

Just listened to episode 1. The guys nailed it, it’s refreshing to be able to listen from people closest to the iconic matches. I can’t wait for ones on matches from earlier in my childhood. If you’re a wrestling fan this is a must listen and subscription.

I was fortunate enough to get some early cuts of The Payoff. The content I have heard has been incredible. One of the gaps that existed was being able to hear what was going on in the minds of the players while the greatest generations of wrestlers hit the ring. Not anymore! Tom has done a great job of getting engagement from the guests to hear about what was going on in and out of the ring. Looking forward to the future episodes!

I’m a huge wrestling fan and have always wanted a podcast to do a deep-dive into some incredible matches with insight from some truly great people. Tom and Jeff do an outstanding job taking the listener through these matches and the build/payoff/aftermath. Can’t wait for future episodes!

The first episode was fantastic. The engagement level with Vickie was incredible. I am really looking forward to reliving these matches in this format. Can’t wait for Austin/Rock at WM 17.

I’ve listened to several top wrestling podcasts and the debut of the payoff shows it Hs the potential to be right at the top. Great content and insight - a must listen!
