Max McLean's one-man play has been adapted to the screen in a way that's faithful to the writing and character of C.S. Lewis. If you've read all of Lewis' works and wished there was more to devour, this movie may just give you what you're looking for. Likewise, if you're only vaguely familiar with Lewis' works (or even if you know nothing about him at all), this movie is well worth a watch. We think everyone will find something of interest in it and all will be provoked in classic Lewis fashion. In this episode of the 1208-Bit *Nerd Church Podcast, Jamin talks about the movie, his love for Lewis, and more.
Correction: Ends up Jamin was wrong about being 100% certain he had seen the play. He had in fact seen a different play called, "An Evening with C.S. Lewis," starring David Payne. Oops

In this Halloween episode we reflect upon the horror of horrors: the cross of Jesus. Using Fleming Rutledge's book, "The Crucifixion," we remind ourselves of the gruesome historical details of the crucifixion Jesus endured in order to dethrone Satan, take kingship over the world, and bring about the forgiveness of sins and the resurrected life.
While horror is often treated as a theme that has nothing to do with Christianity, it is actually central to our own story—not just back then, but still today as people all around the world are martyred for Jesus. That being said, horror does have a discerning place in the Christian narrative as Jesus proves that even disasters can bring about powerful redemptive moments.

After finishing all the comics in The Walking Dead series, Jamin started working on a book about "Scavenging for the Gospel in the Walking Dead." While he wrote no more than a preface to the book and he's unsure if he'll get back to the project, in this short episode he reads what he wrote so far. In it, he discusses finding light in dark places and practicing discernment with the kinds of media we watch.
