The recent student-led uprising in India received international attention and forced concessions from the Modi government which was long seen as having few formidable political challengers at the national level. The movement has put a dent on the notion that the corporate-BJP nexus in India is infallible. Left student movements played a significant role in the success of the satirical 'Cockroach Janata Party' movement.
