Used to be a good podcast with a normal host, now he tries to sound scary and it’s CRINGE

I first saw Derek on a show called Paranormal Caught on Camera and thought I should check out his podcast and im binged listened to it when I first subscribed to it.

This is one of my favorite podcasts. I really love that people can call in and tell the stories in their own words. It really keeps things fresh.

There aren’t interruptive ads on this show. We especially would like to see more ads with annoying jingles played every few minutes.

why the repetition so frequent in the ads?my own story was never played; yet you allow regular callers to dominate the show. I thought you had a lot more to choose from. It seems like performance and lack of trying to be sincere i am disappointed in you

This podcast hits the spot. Captivating recounting of frightening events by the actual people who experienced them. Stories that someone else told the caller (aka hearsay) isn’t the norm. Moreover, we don’t have to endure marathon advertisement breaks and then get inflicted by some meandering goofball telling us about her dream or some guy carrying on about the fact that he saw a monarch butterfly so it must be his long dead grandfather coming to visit. If you are missing what the other podcasts used to be, come here. It will be your new norm. Nonetheless, the show now seems to have increased background sound effects that distract from callers storys. The sound effects aren’t scary—these sounds add nothing but an impediment to what is being said. Please please stop this. The show is so good already and doesn’t need this low brow embellishment. .

I’ve gone from Radio Rental to Sighting to this. I absolutely love the skeptical approach to these calls without it being offensive. Instantly went Patreon and subscribed. Keep up the great work!

I love this podcast style. It is perfect for listening to freely or falling asleep. Derek’s voice is so soothing and I love the music too!

You know people that argue about someone’s voice on their own podcast are the same people that go to say The Target Store and argue that they don’t like the theme color red that The Target Store uses. . Just don’t go to the store then just like don’t listen….keep it up Derek and team!!

The voice schtick is getting old. Please just talk normally. You are ruining your own podcast. There are some genuinely interesting stories being told but too many boring random lights in the sky stories.

I was trying to look past the (annoying) voice the host puts on for the sake of the stories, but then while listening to an episode he addressed people complaining about his voice and doubled down. Saying ‘this is just how i talk’ and ‘sorry not sorry’. That is clearly a voice you put on, not your actual natural cadence, so why lie to your listeners about it? I’m unsubscribing since the host comes off as dismissive and unlikable to me. Oh well.

I got hooked on paranormal podcasts. Listened to a number of them. This is far and away my favorite.

Love this podcast. So many variety of scary stories from haunted houses to ufos and war soldier ghosts… and even Bigfoot. If you like the paranormal this pod is for you.

By far my favorite podcast out there. Not sure what the hate is on Derek’s voice, it’s what makes this great!

Seriously, this would be such a great podcast if it weren’t for the “voice.” I wish the host would consider simply speaking in his normal voice. I was told about this podcast from a coworker and thought I’d give it a go. Unfortunately, just like so many other people have mentioned, the voice made it hard to get through 1 episode. I can’t help but wonder how many more people would like and follow if the host would simply speak normally.

Whoever made this show 4.8 stars is an actual monster

Derek is awesome and does a fantastic job with every call in a G rated format. Presenting a possible logical explanation to each incident yet not making anyone feel uncomfortable about what they witnessed. A must! For anyone interested in the paranormal and who likes listening to podcasts.

It was good at the beginning, but it’s so hard to get past the “voice” the host puts on. It’s so not his real voice. Just speak normal and stop trying to make it like a Disneyland ride.

Please ditch the gravely voice, it’s so cheesy.

This is my favorite podcast! I love the different topics and stories. One thing that drew me in was that these stories are actually told by the people who experienced them or close to the people who did. also regarding the voice, it’s bad assssss. i don’t care what anyone has to say about it. It adds to the creepy vibe. please make it a habit to say “hello sydney” every halloween! Tell memaw and sarah i say hey!

Don’t understand why you chose to use the silly voice. Early episodes were more enjoyable. But the stories for the most part seam genuine
