A Jesuit priest with whom I was golfing recommended this podcast to me 2 years ago. It’s, no pun intended, a Godsend. Grateful to hear like minded, rational viewpoints on this country’s current issues. Keep being a voice for the enlightened and a force for good.

This is an absolutely brilliant podcast! Every day (!) , four highly intelligent people, with John Podhoretz always at the helm, talk for an hour on a variety of topics from the most important latest developments in politics to issues that concern Jews and non-Jews in America.

I’ve listened to this podcast for 6 years since they started going daily due to Covid. Have always appreciated the insight, but the addition of Eliana has been incredibly frustrating. She straight up lies and John/Abe/Seth are too afraid to call her out or be overly critical of Trump because they want their supporters to like them. It’s like they’re calculating instead of commenting. Disappointed to have to find a new podcast.

She is missed!

Please stop bringing your friend Eli Lake and his absurdly naive opinions, even if he’s your friend. Yes, Jon was awesome with his Hopium comments today, but every time he’s I’m cringing while I wait for his illogical optimism nonsense. Otherwise, thanks and keep it up. You guys are very smart and great!!

Huge portions of outrage, an endless menu of grievances, and a presentation far fancier than the substance. John Podhoretz and Eliana Johnson’s reaction to Obama’s Cheesecake Factory joke was laughable. Eliana calling him an “elitist prick” while taking offense at his manners captures the double standard perfectly. Trump’s endless insults get nowhere near this level of indignation, but Obama mocks an over priced chain restaurant and suddenly standards matter. Between the constant throat clearing, the endless “ya knows,” and the overblown reactions, getting to an actual argument is exhausting. The delivery is tacky, the outrage is selective, and the midterm coverage sounds increasingly like election panic dressed up as analysis. You can dislike Obama without turning a restaurant joke into a moral emergency. Apply the same standards to Trump, edit the rambling, and give listeners an argument that survives without the theatrics. At least the actual Cheesecake Factory delivers something worth taking home.

There are only a couple of ways to keep up with the Middle East with accuracy. This is the best way to follow Israel and environs. Brilliant panel daily! (And it the best way to rehear Mel Brooks’ brilliant and perfect daily advise; the theme from ‘The Twelve Chairs”.

The most recent episode about vivek’s attack add on Acton is blatant misinformation. It is a matter of court record that Amy Acton’s step-father raped her as a child. Both Amy and her brother were taken from the home and her mother remained married to her daughter’s rapist until he died. To pretend like we don’t know all the details or that there is something else and benign is simply disgusting. Shame on Commentary.

John talks over everyone (especially Seth) and no one can get a word in edgewise. It’s very annoying.

The Commentary podcast has become a mandatory listen. The guests, including Abe Greenwald, Seth Mandel, Matt Continetti, amongst others have tremendous insight into the problems America and the Jewish community are confronting.

I listen daily. The podcasters have great rapport and the content is always interesting.

As a listener since October 2023, this is a daily must-listen for me. Very useful takes on the news of the day. There’s a long-winded talker, a jokester, a curmudgeon, a hard nosed investigative reporter, and knowledgeable guests (like Eli) that have very informative discussions.

I appreciate this podcast and the opinions expressed, even if I don’t agree with everything. But John— please let others talk. You had Dan Senor on and he barely got to say much. Your other hosts need to interrupt you to get a word in. It’s uncomfortable. Please become self aware.

I generally liked the show but recent attacks on Eisenkot go too far. Not entirely sure why the show seems intent to call Eisenkot weak or “lacking a spine” as John put it on Friday. He lost his son and nephew in the Gaza War while Bibi’s son ran away to Miami. Eisenkot has earned the right to disagree with John Podhoretz on prioritizing bringing back the hostages without being called a coward.

Eil Lake is a treasure. Coming on and defending a view against the regulars is difficult and important, even if I disagree. Go Eli!

The Commentary Podcast is an essential for me. It’s hard to find the time to read every day all the things I know I should read to keep abreast of the news. John Podhoretz and his fellow contributors on the podcast provide fantastic coverage of U.S. politics, social developments, and international news. Often they provide insight on reporting of things that are happening that the mainstream media simply do not cover. It’s funny; it’s smart; it’s a great conversation. Hope for the best and expect the best from this podcast. You won’t be disappointed.

Been listening since the hell of 2020; agree or disagree, I’ve been a subscriber to the magazine since the early 80s (my early 20s). I’ve been through Paleoconservatism, anarchocapitalism, neoconservatism, mainstream Republicanism, etc., and these guys and gals are the only bunch who are seeing the world as it is rather than as they wish it to be, which is all people like Albert Jay Nock, Jacques Barzun, and other sane advocates of civilization said was our duty as human beings.

One of my fav pods being a young more centrist leaning Jewish person. As much as I love the critiques or leftism (and particularly rampant antisemitism) I really like when they make a critique of trump that is rational and fits within in our political reality. Keep up the great work guys !

Love the show. Grateful for the lively debate. Bravo, John for keeping things relevant and moving. HOWEVER, I was offended at your comment about the 31% of self-proclaimed Jews believing in the divinity of Christ being in the “ludicrous beliefs” camp. Bigotry works both ways. Shame on you for belittling tribesman who have chosen to belief the Bibles most revered Jew, Jesus, was fulfilling Isaiah 7:14 when he said “I am the way the truth and the light. No one gets to the Father except through me.” So their Jewish journey is different than yours! The are still Jews. We should all admire the Mordecai’s of the world that refuse to bend the knee to anyone but their God. Don’t belittle those who choose to bend their knees to Jesus, whether Jew or gentile. Praise their clarity of purpose and reverence for their loving God. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. But for a podcast, John!

This is an excellent podcast of really intelligent and highly knowledgeable people. It is always very current and topical. This is really the best quality podcast for intelligent conservatives and pro-Israel folks, although this is not a political podcast to propagandize but to analyze current events in a very deep and engaging manner. This podcasts is not for the fanboys but for those who wish to understand complex current events and issues. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are daily listeners of Commentary. Excellent analysis and opinions, some I don’t always agree with but it’s thought provoking and smart; exactly what a podcast should be!

I listen every day, sometimes not the whole episode when there’s excessive morosity 😂 funniest, most intelligent podcast available! If you're not considering something you never thought of before by the end of each episode you're not paying attention.

Too much social media is far left or far right. This one is center right, with detailed analysis rather than inflammatory ideological claims. Balance it with a center left pod, and enjoy the political center.

Discovering Commentary in my late 20s in the post-Oct. 7th era has been a blessing. An island of sanity as too many people in my cohort fall prey to extremist ideologies on the left and right, and echo the communist, antisemitic propaganda that made life miserable for my family in the Soviet Union. Grateful every day for everything America has given me and my family. Grateful also to get the perspective of John and co. every day that I have the time to listen. I must, however, join the chorus of other reviewers here to state that I also miss Christine these days, and hope she will make frequent guest appearances 🤞

I miss Christine already. Seth has made me LOL in the past but lately I have a very hard time following his long sentences (???) and kind of zone out because I have no idea what the point is that he’s trying to make. —- This is a well rounded group. They crack me up, but also get into the detail of heavy topics. I’m sad I hadn’t discovered them sooner.

Commentary's take on Fauci, masking etc. is clear and yet I do not understand why, when we did not know much about Covid, there's such negativity surrounding masks. No one knew what was happening (Fauci aside). The virus was spreading (my husband fell ill with it, was in a coma for two weeks near death and finally three weeks of rehab and recovery). Wasn't it better to be prudent? A mask is a barrier for germs. When we cough, don't we automatically cough into our sleeve?? It's one thing to dislike how the powers that be handled the pandemic but I'd rather have been safe with masks than sorry without.
