16: Jacquie's Story: Codependency, Boundaries, Faith and Self Trust
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. In today’s show we talk with therapist Jacquie Taylor who shares her journey from childhood trauma to adult codependency with her husband struggling with addiction. As their healing journeys intertwined, Jacquie uncovered how her culture and religion taught her that boundaries were unacceptable—but through her own experience learned that boundaries are necessary parameters for healthy relationships with others and oneself. Deeply informed by her Christian faith, she shares how she ultimately moved away from the “rules of religion” to a Spirituality that allowed for an experience of God rooted in Love and Trust. She ties in her work as an IFS therapist helping people with “love hungry” parts reconnect to their “True Self” which she views as the connection to God within us all.  Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. 15. Karen Newell: Binaural Beats, Meditation, Heart Coherence and the Binding Force of Love
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. In today’s show we interview Karen Newell, an author and innovator in the field of brainwave entrainment & co-founder of Sacred Acoustics meditations. Today we explore Karen’s journey to find the purpose of existence outside of the confines of the religion she was raised in. As she explored various spiritual traditions, she attempted to learn meditation but found she struggled to quiet her mind and connect inside. Here is where she discovered that sounds, such as binaural beats, can provide a boost for meditators to be able to drop into a new state of consciousness with assistance. She talks about her own process of discovering and healing emotions she had long suppressed related to a perceived lack of love. She then talks about the “binding force of love” and how that can be cultivated in service to healing. She ties in research on heart coherence and some fun stories emerge about the adventures that unfold in meditation when you allow, trust & let go. Karen shares her vision for the future of consciousness medicine & the role of love in healing personally and in community. Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. 14. Anger: What We Learned About Anger Growing Up and How That Plays a Role In Chronic Illness... As Well As Healing
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. On today’s episode, we discuss a subject that isn’t often spoken about in public… that is, anger. We start by sharing our own experiences and beliefs around anger and how that has tied into the ways we express it - both in the past and present. Then we chat about the differences between healthy and unhealthy anger expression (or the lack thereof). This leads us to the role anger plays in chronic illness and how giving a voice to our anger is often a surprising part of the healing process. Really, this episode is an untangling of what we were taught or conditioned to believe about anger and an honest look at what it might be like instead to embrace it. We hope this episode resonates with you all as much as it has with us. Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are unconditionally loved and we are so very glad that you're here.  Beth & Desiree **Warning: this episode contains references to sexual assault**

13. Karen’s Story: A Discussion of Parts Work, Unconditional Welcome, Spirituality, and How Humor is Healing
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. Today, Karen Faith joins us in a discussion about parts work and the profound impact it can have on our lives and our healing journeys. She shares the story of how she came to find parts work and how that eventually led to her incredible Ted Talk, "How to Talk to the Worst Parts of Yourself" (linked below). Along the way, we explore the ideas of unconditional love and welcoming and how it’s often easier to offer those to others than it is to ourselves… which led us to the complexity of defining “love.”  In this episode, we also tackle the idea of humor as a healer as we chat about Karen’s performance, "Original Coke Jesus" (linked below). We also dive into spiritual trauma and what it looks like to put the pieces of our beliefs back together in the aftermath. This is one of those discussions that left us feeling so grateful for the unconventional path we’ve been invited to travel down.  Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are loved unconditionally and we are so very glad that you're here. 12. Peacekeeping vs Peacemaking: Unlearning Peacekeeping as a Means of Safety, Forgiveness vs Reconciliation, and Speaking Hard Truths in Love
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. On today’s episode, we discuss the idea of peacekeeping vs peacemaking and how peacekeeping is most often at the expense of our own selves... especially as little, perceptive children who were taught to "keep the peace" in order to make ourselves safe. The truth however is that sometimes things/relationships need to be shattered in order to fully heal and ignoring this, is most often at the expense of our own wellbeing. This is how we get sick.... or at least that has certainly been true in our own experiences with chronic illness and also seems to be true in our society today. We then chat about the ideas of forgiveness and reconciliation and how they are not one and the same. Forgiveness happens in our own hearts and reconciliation happens in relationship… and in order to be invited into reconciliation, someone must be willing to go through the steps of healing along side us. We chat about how this process can feel scary and bring up a lot of shame, but why it’s so worth doing anyways. Like always, this leads us back to the topic of love. We explore the idea that love isn’t just a gentle soothing but can also be the powerful voice of strength. We then share how we have personally learned to speak hard truths, in love.  Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are unconditionally loved and we are so very glad that you're here.

11. Truth and Belonging: Learning to Trust Your Intuition, the Energy of Lies, & Finding True Belonging
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. Welcome back to part two of our discussion with Cat Jensen. Today, we dive deeper into what it means to exist in truth and how the definition of “Truth" we’ve come to adapt as a society may differ greatly from what we know intuitively deep down. Naturally, this segues into the question, what then does it mean to tell a lie… and more specifically, what does it mean to our bodies when we feel the energy of a lie? We also discuss the difference between fitting in and belonging and how the only way to really belong is by living in truth day in and day out. After all, how else will our real community be able to find us? Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are loved unconditionally and we are so very glad that you're here. Beth & Desiree More about our guest: Cat Jensen is a practitioner and facilitator of presence who teaches others how to embody and express their light and love as an overflow offering rather than joining others in their shadow. She is here to disrupt the way we live amongst and with others and invites people to stand more fully in choice enjoying the path toward liberation. She believes expansion doesn’t have to be hard but rather a joyful and curious unfolding if we surrender. She supports those who want to release controlled identities of self to have a deeper and more intimate experience of life by coming back into their wholeness - their most wild, vibrant, big, playful, and alive expression of their presence. 10. Cat's Story: A Journey Back to Love & Community Through Truth Telling and Vulnerability
Hello and welcome to the 100% Healing Podcast. This is where we explore the journey of forgetting to remembering who you truly are within the gift of chronic illness. As part of a two-part episode, today Cat Jensen shares her story with us. It’s a conversation rooted in vulnerability as she takes us on a journey through her healing process. Cat shares what it was like entering into this world feeling unwanted and unloved. She details how growing up in an environment that suppressed her truth, left her feeling alone and untrusting of anyone but herself. Even from an early age, this suppression manifested in her physical body with a myriad symptoms that only progressed throughout the years. Ultimately, her healing has been the path back to love and community through walking in her truth, even at great cost. Cat is an incredible soul that lights up a room. This is a definite must listen! Thank you for joining us today as we continue to explore what it means to be in the process of 100% healing. You are loved unconditionally and we are so very glad that you're here.
