Mamaw's House: The Sherry Cole and Jessie Allen Murders
In April 2022, 59-year-old Sherry Cole and her 7-year-old grandson, Jessie Allen, were found dead outside their home on Old Snapps Ferry Road in Limestone, Tennessee. The homicide investigation, led by the TBI and Greene County detectives, turned quickly to the 16-year-old suspect living under the same roof, Jordan Allen. A recorded confession, a juvenile transfer to adult court, and a false confession defense set up a Greene County murder trial that took 4 years to reach a jury. Sherry was the mamaw her daughters ran home to at the lowest points of their lives. Jessie was a 1st grader who thought riding along to the farm supply store with his papaw made him a working man. Somewhere between a late-night phone call and a Greeneville courtroom, a teenager's story kept changing, and a grandfather who lost his whole family ended up on the witness stand listening to his own grandson point at him.
