《三侠剑》故事自“明清八义”开书，胜英年轻时因金镖误伤八弟秦天豹，与秦家结下“梁子”。后来“明清八义”解散，胜英以保镖为业，其子秦尤发誓替父报仇，勾结“太仓三鼠”杀人越货，入皇宫盗走国宝珍珠翡翠八宝万寿灯，栽赃胜英，挑动沿途之上的江湖绿林，与官府和胜英作对。由此引出连破二郎山、莲花湖、莲花峪、萧金台、萧玉台、萧凤台、仙霞山、二龙山、九龙岛、太行山、黑水湖、巢湖、澎湖等等热闹情节，将剧情推向一个一个高潮。其中“十龙探海岛十龙捞印”、“蒋伯芳棍扫萧金台”、“艾道爷巧打梅花桩”等尤为扣人心弦，也是书中的经典段落。
