A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. Welcome to our milestone Episode 50 of “Reel Chat” – a podcast that guarantees week in, week out – the “Reel world as we know it.”
To celebrate and mark this momentous occasion, your host Adam Stolfo is joined by an extended team of co-host Brose Avard, Andrew McCaskill, Stuart Wilson and returning special guests James Hazelden and Jade Goodge (aka: Janis Malicious) to dive head first into their most ambitious and exciting review yet. Today “Reel Chat” discusses 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” – the newest installment in the all-conquering “Star Wars” heptalogy – recorded out in the open air from the relaxing courtyard of Junie Moon’s café in West Melbourne.
A film of this magnitude deserves a deeper look than usual, and this episode of “Reel Chat” comes in at an “epic” running time of over 2 hours! But it’s all for a good cause, as the team break down the legendary new chapter of a saga many regard as the most important franchise in movie history.
Learn all about it’s status as one of the most anticipated and overly hyped movies of all time… about it’s iconic cast (both the new and the old)… the genius of director J.J. Abrams… it’s record-breaking pre-sale numbers, as well as it becoming the highest opening in the history of cinema in only it’s first week of release (will it be the first film to crack $3 billion!?)… old man John Williams’ incredible return to form with his musical score… And whether or not the film is too much of a retread of “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope“… And if it is, then does that really even matter?
We also have a special interval mid-recording, where we look back at some of the best top 5’s of Reel Chat’s first year on the air. We’ll also give you Reel Chat’s 2015 Hall Of Fame inductees.
This is certainly an “epic” podcast for an “epic” movie. Star Wars is back in full force!
A very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to you all. See you all bigger and better in 2016. May the force be with you.
