Story telling and science
Laura is a master storyteller and investigative reporter looking for the truth and also showing the flaws of man’s work on scientific evidence. Dive in you’ll be glad you did!

One of the best!
Came across this podcast from an interview Laura did with the blurry photos podcast. It has jumped passed all my favorite podcasts almost instantly especially season 2 space invaders. Very informative guests, smart host, insightful and scientifically accurate!

Engaging and smart
I have loved all three season. Laura presents the topics in a way anyone can understand and enjoy.

Smart fun and off center science storytelling
I found this through outside, I’d have to say it fits with being fun, adventurous, off-center… I’m learning some things… And allows me to enjoy the fantasy of maybe, just maybe…

The meat eater
First heard of this podcast on the meat eater podcast on her first season when going through the meat eater backlog iSubscribed and half sense listen to all of your podcasts and have enjoyed all of them and I hope you as a podcaster and journalist keep doing what you do

Pathetic
Listened to the episodes on Bigfoot. Too glib and NPR like. As one reviewer said “ sarcastic and mocking”. Although she covered various topics it came out shallow. She doesn’t do justice to the numerous reports and dismisses eye witnesses and footprints as “ eye witness accounts aren’t credible” and “footprints aren’t evidence”. I will remove this podcast after completing this review.

Wonderful podcast!
Laura Krantz narrates this podcast that includes historical events, the science behind the events, and how our culture is reacting and has reacted to the subject that is explored. I can’t recommend this podcast enough! It is wonderfully narrated and as each episode ends it leads you to want more!!

Love it
It combines the hope of squatchers with the science. Balanced so far (still on season 1). Great presenter.

Amazing
I lived in Idaho Falls during the time of this accident and was blissfully aware of the entire episode. Of course, I was a teenager and not exactly our with the latest. The entire series is wonderfully informative. Ms. Krantz has a great voice, a sense of humor even in this grim tale, and keeps me fascinated at all times. Thanks for doing this podcast.

Not a word about Uranium EXTRACTION
The actual problem with the fossil fuel economy starts with the reliance upon extraction of a NON-RENEWABLE resource. The actual problem with the nuclear fuel economy starts with the reliance upon extraction of a resource that is INCOMPATIBLE WITH BIOLOGICAL LIFE. Not only the waste of nuclear energy is deadly to biological life forms, NOT ONLY HUMANS, but radioactive fuel is deadly in the raw form. It is a deadly, planet killing technology from beginning to end. When someone tells you who they are...”I am become death, the destroyer of worlds...” said a guy who invented it. Believe him. This podcast is too much maybe don’t believe him.

Solid podcast.
Fascinating subjects, extremely well researched and presented. Personally interesting and professionally competent. Thank you.

Phenomenal
I heard about this podcast through Laura Krantz's interview on the Conversations With Joe podcast. A few days later it came up while I was browsing podcasts. If I hadn't already heard that there was a season about nuclear technology I would've Passed it off as another crackpot rambling about Bigfoot. I distinctly remember listening to that first episode, I was so sceptical, yet I kept through it. I'm so glad I stayed.

Great series
I’m predisposed, love the topic

Excellently executed
Surprisingly good production. Especially enjoyed the search for Bigfoot. Nice mix of science, research and testimony. I too have a Bigfoot sighting when I was younger playing paintball in the Maryland woods. *update: I thought the nuclear episode wasn’t strange and weird enough but it’s amazing. Educational and interesting and sometimes horrific. I just wish the episodes were longer! They’re over before you know it. I want more!!!

Perfect balance of fun storytelling and intellectual curiosity
Wild Thing is great. Whether diving into fairy tale or sci fi or exploring nuclear science, it has the structure of serious and well researched reporting hidden behind a sweet, friendly and fun approach to storytelling. Love listening at the gym, on my commute and Saturday mornings at home with coffee.

Wild Fun
I loved the first season. Laura has a gift for telling a story, digging for facts and keeping it fun. Looking forward to season two and three!

Fun and Informative!
This podcast has an interesting and fun range of topics that host Laura does an exceptional job of covering. I really like her non-biased style of investigative research and reporting mixed with the occasional “dad joke”. Dad jokes are rad jokes, right? As stated, this podcast is fun and informative! You’ll likely learn something and the host allows you to draw your own conclusions instead of pushing you towards a personal bias. The world needs more of this!

Wild Thing is captivating!
I love listening to Laura Krantz dive deep on topics she’s curious about and willing to share with us. She’s the best storyteller! And she is so well researched, doing the most interesting interviews and no interview is a waste. You almost want to go behind the scenes with each one, that’s how well edited this thing is. I always look forward to the next episode and next season and hope Laura continues to produce these!

Favorite podcast
I’ve listened to an embarrassing number of podcasts and this has been my favorite since the first season. Laura is an engaging storyteller, the production is excellent, and it’s very clear how much care and heart went into creating it. Very excited for season 3!

One of my favorites
Such a wonderful podcast. It approaches interesting questions seriously but skeptically and without an agenda beyond learning more. I absolutely loved the first two seasons and hope a third is on the way soon!

Wonderfully Done
Such a well done and thoughtful podcast. The information is useful but also presented with a healthy sense of humor.

Excellent Fun!
Does a great job of having fun with the topics without being insulting to people who believe in this silliness as well as being scientific. Thanks for keeping me company on a 15hour flight to Korea and in quarantine! What’s next?

Good Content
Good research and input on the topics of Bigfoot and aliens. Also good sound quality. Laura is easy to listen to.

How bad and lazy can a podcast be?
This one was promising. Unless you are very young and or not not a reader it is just regurgitation and univentful. If you have never heard a paranormal podcast before it will be interesting for a couple episodes.
Slim grazed
ruined by too mnay commercial breaks
I don't know why some podcasts insist on ruining their great product with endless and continuous breaks for advertisement after advertisement!! I finally had to stop and write this review just becuase it became so ridiculous!!! And it's the same 4 ads over and over, episode after episode. Great content but not worth listening to all these repetitive ads.

Like Expedition Unknown meets Cosmos
I’m a scientist and I love the way Laura blends science, culture, and storytelling. Her podcast is the perfect way to wind down the day or pass time in the car because you learn something and are completely entertained at the same time. Her wit and humor is the icing on the cake. I started with her series on extraterrestrial life because I love astronomy but had to listen to to series 1 after that just because her podcast is just so well put together-interviews, editing, and content. I hope there will be more series in the future!

Excellent
Just what I was looking for.

Disappointing
Season 1 was an exciting even handed exploration of science and folklore. Season 2 by Ep. 2 has already endorsed the untestable magic of god-of-the-gaps quantum physics and then throwing in sponsorship via the Wim Hof method. Pseudoscience won out on this podcast. Really undermined the credibility of what started of as a good exploration of science.

Compelling
Engaging and compelling. An enjoyable listen.

Scientific approach to Bigfoot? I’m in!
I’m only 5 episodes in, but I LOVE this podcast. As a student in my last year in college I spent spare time looking into this topic and this has rekindled my love of the topic and the application of scientific principles to such a great mystery. Thanks for this treasure!!

Fantastic show
My friend told me I would love Wild Thing and she was right! I’ve enjoyed it so much. This is a show for skeptics and believers!

Smart look at a sometime weird and controversial topic
This is the smart listeners’ look at fringe topics that I’ve been searching for for a long time. Well worth listening to, and Laura’s background as a journalist really serves her well as she takes us through the reality is behind what seem like crackpot theories. Can’t wait for season 3 ... ghosts????

Entertaining and Informative!
Laura has a way of grabbing you with her enthusiasm and keeping you with her intelligence and entertaining humor. You think all you’re doing is enjoying an entertaining podcast but you suddenly realize that she has provoked you into deep thought, taking you on an adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed both seasons and am looking forward to more.

So good!
I love Laura! She is funny, a little corny but so informative as well. I listen to a lot of podcasts and she has absolutely kept me interested with the info as well as her personality. Well done!!

It’s just the best
Season 2 Episode 7 introduced me to some mind-blowing linguistic theory. The whole show is more than worth listening to, but the aforementioned episode is especially deserving of your time. I mouthed the word ‘wow’ in public like an idiot about a dozen times during my first listen.

Hooked!!!
I first heard of this podcast while listening to Steve rinellas meat eater podcast. Since then I’ve been hooked! Definitely recommend if your interested in the subject
Disappointed guy!
Terrific
Great podcast. One of the few that is able to tackle subjects of the unknown with the authenticity and credibility of real journalism.
Jnewyouth
Totally useless treatment of UFO subject
Was surprised to listen and realize how bad a podcast can be on an interesting subject. She has zero interest in talking to decades long thought leaders on subject. Definitely NOT worth your time.

Level-headed and sobering accounts of the unexplained
Amazingly good podcast. It combines a healthy dose of curiosity and open-mindedness to unexplained and apparently supernatural phenomena, but remains level-headed and sobering in its scientific approach and objectivity. The host, Laura Krantz, is a great storyteller with a fresh voice and style who will take you along in a wild ride in her quest to untangle some of our supernatural and unexplained obsessions. Highly recommended. I just wish the new season came out already.
