Great podcast overall but the beginning to long with advertisements and stuff that has nothing to do with the podcast at all but there great keep it up man

A diverse combination of paranormal,!historical and mystery stories in the podcast world. The voice is easy and the content is a wonderful combination. A little something for everyone!!!!

Stop the replays of old episodes, please! Started on old episodes(2018), now on May 2023. Favorite episodes are Fireside Frights! Least favorite are the narrated short stories. I can not stand Darren’s accents…British, stoner dudes, hillbillies, women. YUK!!! Just can’t listen to these! My suggestion to Darren is to read them in his normal voice, which is nice! The only other negative is the frequency of reposts of old episodes. I’ve heard so many over and over again. I prefer new content! Overall, I do enjoy the podcast and would recommend to others. 11/29/23 Update: I’m becoming disenchanted with the podcast. I hear so many repeats of old episodes it feels like dejavu on over-drive. I’m listening to mid-October 2023 now. I’ll catch up to current and if this doesn’t stop, I’m onto something else. Sorry, Darren! I’m trying to find a reason to keep going with Weird Darkness.

Can’t say enough about this podcast, it is always an intriguing variety of stories with excellent delivery. Such a phenomenal mix of historical, educational and entertainment!

I love this podcast but there are so many ads I have gotten pretty good at skipping past them. I love the sound of Darren’s voice. I will put on an old episode or one I don’t want to hear and play it to fall asleep. His voice is so soothing to me.

I started out listening to this because the host, Darren Marlar, sounds like Dan Aykroyd, who also likes topics of high strangeness. This show is unlike any other. It’s not just someone reading about the same topic for 2 hours. Each show delivers multiple topics read almost like a radio news show. This podcast is very high quality and packed full of content. The host is a professional voice actor. The content is well researched. It’s obvious that a team of people work on creating these shows. Episodes are release everyday, sometimes more than that. The show’s community is very cool. There are fun events like watch parties for classic movies from over 50 years ago and much more. Premium members get some really unique perks and extra content. The host is a really good person. He has a couple of other shows too. Don’t miss this podcast. Definitely worth supporting too.

Darren Marlar is a phenomenal voice. He tells stories both fictional and nonfictional regarding the paranormal, strange and of course weird. He covers every topic in this genre. Very very entertaining and at time informative.

The way the stories are told without bias but still enormously entertaining.

This is why I rarely engage with American podcasts regarding any subject. After endlessly hearing rants and raves about Weird Darkness I have to say after white knuckling my way through just one episode once again I find myself underwhelmed. Maybe American content is just not for me. Maybe it’s just such a generic podcast. I don’t know. Frankly, I don’t care. Give it a listen at your own risk I guess. Time is a most precious gift and I definitely regret wasting 57 minutes of my life.

I just thought I would let you know. You said Zak Bagans is from Ghost Hunters I’m sorry to say, but Zak Bagans was from Ghost Adventures. I loved watching both of them shows and the travel Channel. Darren Marlar. Great vocal tone and inflection in his talented narration delivery style. Not just a voice. This host is down to earth, genuine, and has a very real and warm heart for his listeners. Never met him in person, yet count him a good friend. Darren, the effort you put into everything, not just the podcast, and your open honest dialogue with your fans sets you far apart from most other hosts. Truly appreciate you.

This is a good show but it has about 30 minutes of ads in every episode over an hour. It gets very frustrating to have to skip through minutes of useless ads in between stories. This podcast is 1/3 show and 2/3 ads or advertising for the podcaster’s other shows or friends shows. It’s a decent listen if all your favorite podcasts have been listened to and you just need some background noise to keep your mind occupied.

Darren, you can tell that you put so much effort and care into each episode. It’s been a pleasure accidentally stumbling upon Weird Darkness years ago and I just wanted to convey my appreciation for what you bring to the table. Keep it up my friend!

You have one of the best shows

Initially loved it . It’s in the true crime care. He use to tell weird but believable stories , but now they go wayy beyond even somewhat believable . As a matter of fact it’s been awhile since he’s had any stories at all believable , and this is coming from someone who loves strange weird stories . Unsubscribing . 😞

I love Darren‘s voice I can’t explain why it’s just very combing and there’s some thing that makes me feel safe about his voice and I love all the varied stories some podcasts just have the same type of story all the time, and I love his light in the darkness Page

I do really love the show, but 5-8 minutes worth of ads before the show even starts is a bit unbearable. And that’s just at the beginning. This doesn’t take into account the other 12 minutes of promos and ads throughout the show.

This show is very well done and there is literally at least one new show per day sometimes more. Definitely recommend !

This guy puts out an insane amount of content, I can always find something that fits my mood and peaks my interest. He’s multi talented, great voice for narrating and wide range of character voices. I also admire his heart, and his advocacy for mental health. I can relate to the struggle. Although his religious views may differ from mine, I very much respect his presentation of his beliefs and his obvious reverence and devotion to them. 10Stars

I listen to these stories at work while I work and also when I go to bed at night, I literally can’t go to sleep with listening to something and I have always had a interest in dark things like paranormal stuff and the occult and alien abductions and cryptids and basically anything that’s out of the ordinary and mysterious. I also am super picky about the podcasts narrator because I find it impossible to sleep listening to stories from people with high pitch voices. I just wanted to say thank you for making these amazing podcasts.

I have listened for 3 years and I love it! I just don’t like the ads during the show!! At the beginning and are fine but in the meat of the show with ads is just kinda frustrating.

I enjoy this podcast and listen every day. Darren must be working his butt off to bring us so much content. My only quibble is that some stories are just him reading long, dry pseudo academic articles that have no emotion to them. Just facts and figures. I wish those would go away. But! I don’t want to be too harsh. Darren delivers hours of entertainment every week and most of it is great. I don’t blame him if not everything hits the mark. Thanks Darren!

There’s one song that gets played in several episodes and I wish I could find the name of it. It was in “sharing bunk beds with evil” played during that story.

Darren, having come from a radio background, reads/voices over/narrates very professionally. Unlike other professionals he is very down to earth and starts to feel like your friend after just an episode. Also what’s unique about him is that he covers the whole gamut from True Crime, to Creepypastas and vintage stories to reading audiobook style. He does Weird News and “Church of the Undead”. He is probably the only Christian of all the True Crime and creepy content I listen to which is really cool because he brings light into this dark world.

I love listening but resontly found a podcast called crime junkie and I think it’s a bit better still listening but not in to it sorry

I found this creator on TikTok. Then ran over here to listen to the back episodes I had missed. I just listened to the Church of the Undead. Thought provoking and my husband and I had a great discussion. I highly recommend this podcast.

I wanted to enjoy the podcasts but takes forever to get into the material. Then after each part he plugs things in between like an expo, membership stuff, then nope he sets the main topic up then goes into more small stuff that isn’t what is highlighted in the topic. He needs to stop podcasting like it’s a TV show.

Creepy stories and so many are supposedly true! I listen to a couple episodes several times a week and I never get tired of hearing the stories.

The host has a great voice, and the production quality is really good. Aside from being in a fantastic genre, I love that you get multiple topics each episode. I do wish they’d stack the ads all in one place instead of sprinkled throughout, but I’m not going to fault anyone for trying to make money. Keep up the great work!

I enjoy about 90% of the podcasts. Also love the Bible quotes and verses, great inspiration and wisdom!

Christian dogma disguised as horror. Why be so sneaky? I found the discussion “Can Christian’s believe in the supernatural?” hilarious. Because religion is the belief in the supernatural. Garbage.

I started listening to this podcast a few years ago but then stopped. Maybe I forgot about it in searching for other podcasts and perhaps it stopped downloading because I had not listened in a while. I’m not sure but kicking myself for it! This is such a great podcast and definitely will not stop listening. Thank you Darren!

The show is really good and the storytelling is top notch. The only problem with this particular podcast is that it will say the same things sometimes 4 or 5 times. I listened to the Krampus episode for about twenty minutes, but I had to pause it for a bit. Yes, I have noticed that Krampus is really different in every movie. However, you have played that part of the podcast three times and you started off the episode with that story from the beginning. Please, stop with the repetition in your show to this current degree. I am getting to where I cannot listen to your podcast because it keeps repeating! Besides that, the show is one of my favorites! Yes, I was making a point by mentioning how the show repeats itself by repeating myself in the review!
