The show is in heavy rotation for me. The conversation between Adam, Joanna, and Zach is always provocative, insightful, and deep. The hosts have great chemistry, the topics are all the way, interesting and relevant, and the length of each episode is perfect for my commute.I’ve learned so much over the last year from listening to this podcast. It’s a wonderful companion to an excellent publication.

Adam Teeter is that dude. Almost always hits the nail on the head and puts me on to amazing perspective. Must listen.

Happy they are addressing this issue, but kind of a wasted opportunity to have a substantive conversation about the topic vs. condemning one single person’s point of view. Very clearly have very strong feelings against this person, so why bother with such a negative podcast? Uplift the industry or dig in deeper and ask more questions rather than taking the time to waste our time with what you think we should feel. We are more intelligent than this and deserve a more meaningful format for this conversation, especially with wine sales falling substantially along with the demand for the sommelier. That being said, I’ll just stop listening.

Information wise I give it 4 stars, maybe 5, topics could be better. Sometimes it just sounds like a lot of insider complaining about the industry. And the obscene language could be omitted, and their talking points would sound much more professional. I get it that they want to sound edgy but it is over the top. And it also narrows their audience, because not everyone is listening to it on headphones.

Very diverse range of subject matter that really delves into the nuance of a particular topic.

The trio of Adam, Joanna and Zach offer fun, witty, passionate and educated banter. Through their work at VinePair they are able to offer the educated viewpoints of industry insiders, but with the freedom to be honest (brutal at times) about the shenanigans of Beverage Alcohol and Hospitality in a way that only outsiders can authentically. Not beholden to any company or agenda, they offer fresh and bold takes in an upbeat, affable, bite-size package. These are many of the conversations we wish industry leaders would sometimes be bold enough to have with each other, even if corporate decorum might have something to say about it.

Not sure how I’ve slept on this podcast this long, but this is brilliant. As the manager of over 80 brands in a tenured fine wine and spirits distributor, the “does anyone know how to sell wine?” episode was like a much needed therapy session. I talk with my colleagues about this all the time and your insight couldn’t have been more accurate. Hitting subscribe now. Cheers.

I listen to every episode. Wine pro. Why the hate on n/a options? This is where the market is going and it’s responsible to respond. Also better for us all, it’s okay to pivot. One host in particular seems to keep his head in the sand…

Reading other reviews, it looks like I’m not alone in my feedback and not much has changed over the last few years. The topics are very smart and interesting, the discussions are concise, and the hosts do a great job of not interrupting or talking over one another. Fantastic content that’s presented well. That said, the sanctimonious attitudes and opinions offered (one host in particular is worse than the others) get old fast. Granted, opinions and editorial content is to be expected on a podcast like this. But it gets pretty dang old hearing this expression over and over again from one of the hosts: “If you’re into _____ and that’s your thing, that’s great - good for you… But it’s f——ing stupid.” It’s definitely a show by millennials, for millennials. But as part of the target demo, I perhaps can’t properly complain about that aspect.

Feels familiar and is informative. Good for insights to how industry pros feel and helpful for ideas to implement in your own service.

While informative at times, most episodes devolve into “Old Man Yells At Cloud: The Podcast”. Constantly complaining about EVERYTHING in wine and spirits, offering no advice or ideas on how to improve. Gatekeeping disguised as altruism, the worst kind of snobbery in this industry.

Super informative, you guys definitely have a finger on the pulse of the industry! Great coverage of the Anchor Steam situation! My only minor complaint is that Joanna— with all due respect— always sounds like she’s half asleep. 😬

I really enjoyed hearing what the possible fallout and factors are in the news about Ste Michelle cutting its grape buying this year. I recommend listening to this - it makes you think about cheap wine and how it is equivalent to cheap beer, in a way.

I listen to a lot of podcasts but very few are in the must-listen to every episode the day it releases category; the VinePair podcast is one of them. I enjoy the insights into parts of the drinks business I wouldn’t normally get exposure to as someone not in the industry. The vibe is fun, keep up the great work!

Title says it all. Kick the episode off with some ageism then insert poor attempts at humor. How are you going to go from talking smack about how young people don’t have cellars or care about scores to talking about the the multiple times you are at Charter Oak in 5 minutes.

I’m kind of surprised that I like this pod as much as I do. I admire the even-minded perspective that these folks bring to the market. Millennials and younger, don’t let their penchant for wine turn you off 🙃.

This podcast does a great job of covering current topics across the beverage alcohol space. Beer, wine and spirits get pretty equal treatment, which is rare. The hosts are pretty opinionated, which I appreciate - even more as time goes on. The content has continued to evolve over the five years they’ve been doing it, which is impressive given how much the landscape has changed in that time. Definitely recommend it.

This podcast is my favorite source for keeping up on trends in the industry. I love that the hosts don’t hold back and let their personality really come through. Not stuffy at all.

I find it amusing that two guys almost 40 talk about how Napa isn’t for young people. Dudes - your old! Also, if you want a good tasting experience in Napa you have to put some work in. There are still diamonds in the rough that are independent winemakers making great wines that aren’t the glorified bar experience.

Fantastic insights on the industry and drinks culture marred by conceited and unnecessary political references and juvenile rants.

As a winemaker, and brand owner, I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. Every Monday and Friday I’m tuning in to continually learn how to better project the message of my winery. In a world that is dominated by old heads, VinePair is bringing new life to all forms of alcohol and marketing. Bravo!

Best podcast about wine and spirits hands-down and few of the only voices to correctly articulate the ups and downs of hospitality since March 2020. Adam, Joanna and Zach are true comrades.

You could have made your point about the wine community unwisely ignoring the younger crowd in marketing efforts, without rude and disrespectful references to older people when discussing a recent wine awards event. You could also leave the political references out. I guess “ageism” is not on your radar?! Your generalizations of “Boomers” are trite and patronizing. Grow up.

As a huge millennial wine lover, I especially loved today’s podcast (01/30/23). But today, the opening with the banter about espresso just solidified why I love this podcast. Great chemistry between hosts and I like the deviations. I find this is the podcast I usually talk about the most. Thank you!

Episodes in 2018 were very informative. 2019 is full of complaining. Listening now after a couple years and review is the same. Informative but put off by the amount of complaining.

Hmmmmmm. Episode 109: Spent 10 minutes talking about TV shows, and 13 minutes talking about magnums of wine. Not good.

Been listening since the beginning. Love their all inclusive approach. Never single out a particular style or category that is best. They give equal credence and objective viewpoints on trends from bud light to Romanee Conti and everything in between. As an industry vet with a partiality to certain categories and producers they have opened my mind with every show. They have curbed my tendency to snobbery!

The folks mmhmm know their stuff, mmhmm. Lots of great mmhmm info on wine mmhmm, bar trends mmhmm, and the industry mmhmm. I also enjoy mmhmm the cocktail spin-off mmhmm! I’m poking a bit of fun mmhmm at the hosts amateur podcast skills mmhmm (listen to yourselves mmhmm - and this includes interrupting your guests mmhmm), but they are definitely mmhmm experts when it comes mmhmm to their true trade mmhmm, which is the booze. MMHMM.

I love how diverse the topics are in the world of drinks! Came here for the wine discussion and rarely have cocktails, but you all make me want to try more!

I love the podcast. But please Johanna stop with the Mmm hum affirmations. It’s a bit distracting.

I enjoy the passion and sincerity of all the podcasts here. The information is invaluable. I enjoy them immensely. However the amount of times the word “ like” is used is beyond my understanding. For every time the word “ like” is used and if I was given a dollar each time…. It would be like… thousands of dollars.

Finally a podcast with the right balance of educational content, personal anecdotes, and personalities of the beverage world. This one gets it right. The hosts are knowledgeable without pretension and tackle trends from unique angles (e.g., in flight drinks in the age of the canned cocktail). Well done!

It is so fun to listen to the excitement in Keith’s voice as he educates you on so many great topics and people!! I have learned so much as I do my driving throughout the week. I really enjoy how he breaks down each topic to give you a thorough understanding. So often the questions I have while I listen, are then answered in the podcast. I have recommended VinePair to so many and can’t say enough about it. I also now listen to SOMM which I also love and then purchased SOMM for watching on tv. Thank you for all the great content, it’s so fun and amazing!!

I generally like the insight VinePair gives into the drinks industry. But it feels awfully awkward that I rarely hear black voices represented into their various podcasts or instagram posts. More so this first Black History month after the historic BLM movement of 2020. But please do tell us how all the out-of-work Somms and Bartenders are going to come rescue us uneducated local yokels living in the sticks.

The show used to be good. Adam just ruins it with his immature rants and complaining.

As a gen xer wine person, I find this podcast very difficult to listen to. Lots of whining, “likes,” up speak. It’s really quite annoying and detracts from the material.

In season 2 episode 10, the description of making vermouth at home gets cut off - any chance of a corrected upload?

Good info knowledge but of the few talks I heard, seemed very much like a constant ranting and complaints about the wider wine world without much evidence or support to back up issues.

...but the occasional foul-language rant (usually on the NY end) detracts from the show’s value. I’d rather give my full attention to the content. Bottom line, though, is that the sincerity and passion of both moderators comes through...and that’s a good thing.

This show used to be more informative and less about industry complaints. I feel Zach tries to steer the podcast in an informative direction, and Adam snatches it to go on a grievance tangent. I’m from NYC and I find Adam’s comments jarring at times. Zach seems to be less nose in the air, and I would rather have a conversation about wine with Zach for fear of Adam’s condescension. However, the interview with Victoria James was awesome and the topics are interesting for the most part.

I really enjoyed this when i started to listen. It has so much potential and their banter is almost what you hope for in a podcast. Not an easy thing to do and produce but they genuinely try and are overall enjoyable. Great points and counterpoints. The interaction and discussions are genuine. Wish they covered more topics and trend from the middle of the country too not just the coasts. It’s a huge industry.

Having tended bar over the last 39 years, the congenial manner notwithstanding divergences between West/East coast sensibilities explored here are both informative, as well, arresting.

The topics are interesting and varied and I appreciate Adam and Zach’s approach to wine and sprits. It’s a small thing but Please put some thought into the audio quality or variance.
