This is a great show. Very civilized for a podcast on profanity. I really hope to see Matt continue the series.

I’ve always been interested in the history of profanity so I’m loving this!

It's very cool that *someone* has put together details of these things. I've always wondered about etymology of some of the "big ones". Has all that and more. Things like how C* used to be a powerful, positive thing and the old stories you heard about how F*CK is an acronym are a load of crap.

Not a topic I would have expected to be fascinated by but this one has me hooked. Credit due to Matt who really produces amazingly entertaining and informative episodes. I especially loved the foreign language episode and, in fact, went back to listen to it again. That's awesome stuff.

I enjoy the history lessons & great research provided with the entertainment of “taboo” words used in different cultures. Quite enjoyable. Thanks!!

I love this podcast, very different, and really dives into where cuss words came from and why some people have their panties in a bunch. Great show!

It's a neat podcast but you really shouldn't take everything here as fact due to it pushing a specific viewpoint. The big one is a bit on why mf (and other mother related swears) is such a powerful curse. The episode does a shpiel about why mothers are sacred and how it's a insult for a man dominated sociaty (a femenist viewpoint) yet doesn't mention the true reason why it's such a good insult... It's cause it's a insult directed to the one person who truely cares about us most of us, the person most responsible for shaping us, a person that would do anything to help us, our Moms.

This podcast is fantastic. The critical analysis on why some words are bad, how they got that way, and our reactions - and overreactions - to those bad words is engaging and a pleasure to listen to. Keep them coming!

A podcast about one of my favorite things - cussing! It's smart, not gratuitous, and really, REALLY funny.

The foreign language episode took me back to my grandmothers house where she would yell things at my grandfather she thought all of us couldn't understand. Thanks for the dose of nostalgia.

I used to cringe when people would curse in public and my friends thought it was so weird. I don't know why, probably my catholic upbringing. A friend of mine put this show on and it really put into perspective how silly it is that we have such adverse reactions to swear words and now I find myself cussing much more often than I have before...and liking it.

Very interesting, intelligent and entertaining!

First couple were ok but now it's boring and and has no direction. They referred to Down syndrome way to many times for my taste. A meandering waste of time.

Love the idea behind this podcast, listened to one episode and I was hooked!

As an avid "bad word" user the title and description caught my attention. First two episodes have not disappointed!

As someone who enjoys some good cussing, I find this podcast fascinating. It's a must listen!

I'm super picky about my podcasts. Very Bad Words does a great job of interviewing a wide array of informative guests. The audio edits are clean and professional. The time limit of the podcast is ideal for casual listening during work. Can't wait for more!

I appreciate the insight and knowledge of scholars that the show pulls from; unfortunately I live amongst people with poor grammar and sanctimonious attitudes. Keep up the good work!
