Great interview. However, when Van mentions that black folks need to work together this advance the black community and mentioning that we should go to the NAACP awards and the Oscars etc I agree with him. I was surprised to hear that while mentioned all of these entities he didn’t state that black folks should attend hbcus. For me, you can’t mention the empowerment of black people without including education and by default, the importance of attending historically black colleges and universities. He and others needs to include these glorious institutions in these conversations. Great show but disappointed that he didn’t mention these institutions of higher learning.

It took me from 6pm to 10pm to listen to one epi bc a lot of intellectual dialogue. Some of guests I’ve never heard of before, but I was informed and enlightened after listening. I downloaded it to my mother’s phone so she could enjoy it as well!

Good topics,been listening for bout a year.what I don’t like is how Van talks over his guess and BULLY’S his opinions on to the guess,even when the guess states their position Van tells the guess that their wrong cause their opinion doesn’t line up with his.

You were not wrong Van. She was wrong to even speak on that without proof period. The accusation alone is accusatory in today’s climate and can’t be walked back. Plus why if she didn’t even have a relationship with that person would she even speak on it. If she knew people she should have got them to speak not her.

I like your interviews. Just think that when you ask a guest a question, you allow them to answer. You can't always interject with a story of your own when they start to answer. It's annoying to not hear their answers after they are asked something. Don't try to be the star of the interview when you have a guest. Let them shine. It makes the interview that much better.

Out of thousands of podcast Van is always on my priority list. I'm not a Democrat I don't always agree with what he says but he doesn't shy away from important topics like a lot of podcast. I like him and I'm going to continue to listen

Persistently inarticulate, changes subject when it's proven he's out of his depth, laughs at his own jokes, and talks over his guests. Limited as a host in all ways.

Your so quick to judge Kanye! I saw the tmz interview! When Kanye was speaking to you, you already had your mind made up about him and what he was going to say before he even said it. I’m not saying he is right , or wrong for that matter. I’m also not saying you need to agree or disagree with him but he; just like any other human in this planet, he is allowed to have an opinion and we need to respect how he wants to take an entirely different approach towards promoting positive changes for our country. You need to look at the bigger picture. He’s not “jumping on board the Trump boat” because he LOVES TRUMP , he’s trying to come at the situation from a more inviting positive approach because that’s when it will have more of a chance to be heard. I mean look at what Kim did? She came at Trump from a positive concerned understanding approach and was able to free someone from jail. Do you think that would have ever happened if she came to trump protesting or in a aggressive negative way? Heck no! Think about it... I don’t blame you for having a polar opposite opinion from Kanye. We as a society have been brought up thinking that in any given situation where there are “sides” that we must pick one. But why? This is our problem, instead of actually listening and understanding what people say when they speak, we are too busy thinking about what we are going to come back with. And just like most debates the topic gets NOWHERE really fast. You ask anyone how they feel about Trump they either love the guy or Hate his guts. Why is that? Because we are taught from a young ask that we have to pick. This Separates our country into two entities and doesn’t give our Nation the opportunity to truly unite in the way “the UNITED states of America “should unite. And until then we will continue to run ourselves in the ground. We will continue to stay divided as you continue shouting “F*** Kanye” “Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly , while expecting a different result “ Let’s put more effort into listening without judgement with others speak so it allows us to understanding others perspectives. By doing this people won’t always be on defense mode and it will allow us to come together, because at the end of the day we are all so different with different experience, but we all are human and we all want positive change for our country.

He literally just equates EVERYTHING to race and it's so annoying!! He's the epitome of a social justice warrior. He talks about how much he "loves" black people but looks down on everyone else. Makes me sick listening to him....

Interview/conversation skills getting better van. U don’t have to be the smartest/ loudest guy in the room, let the people/guest talk.Your questions are not parallel, jumping back and forth.. P.s. don’t just be the Kanye guy. That one thing does not define you......

Van Lathan is so smart and so spot on. I listen to a lot of podcasts and I go to The Red Pill when I want to know what the heart of any issue is. Granted, as a 79 yo white woman, I have some trouble following his guest’s speech patterns, but no more than I have watching a British tv show...part deafness, part accent. I have started watching TMZ just to see him speak. He’s wasted on gossip, of course, but hopefully he’ll find purchase somewhere else. Great podcast. Great podcaster. Great thinker.
