Questions about solo travel episode
Listening to the episode about solo travel. What job did she have where she had unlimited vacation!!

Not a Podcast Fan but I love listening to them!
I absolutely love this podcast! I feel like I’m listening to a conversation by my really cool well traveled friends. I actually have listened to entire episodes. I would like to hear their perspective on the current unprecedented affairs at the moment.

PLEASE! Stop saying “like” all of the time. Stop yourself and pause. Think about what you’re going to say. It’s a bad habit and hard to listen to.

No more podcasts?
I’ve caught up on all the podcasts! And now I see no more in 2019 or 2020? I hope I’m wrong!

WHERE DID ALL THE PAST EPISODES GO?!?
Looks like every episode pre-2018 has disappeared - why?

I also miss mark and brad! As a woman I appreciate the women who travel podcast, but also value the more general travel content that travelogue brought to the table

Why so many F words?!
This podcast was helpful, for my transatlantic flight. The episodes with Mark, Meredith, Catherine and Karina was excellent! Unfortunately some of the other hosts are lackluster as they try to impress each other and let loose the F word so many times, I can’t listen to this TRAVEL podcast with my kids in the car! I am so confused as to WHY. Why so many F words in a Travel Podcast?! I’m not here for that, it makes the show seem trashy and low class. I don’t trust advice from people who aren’t articulate.

Fun!
It's fun and simple. I echo that it is often too NYC-centric. Always appreciate Mark on the podcast! Mark--I'm clearly behind on my episodes. 5 Stars all the way! (05.23.19)

GREAT podcast!
The Travelogue podcast is a great show because it’s ALL about travel and not much else. I appreciate that they get straight to the point, they discuss the subject matter without too much personal banter. While there is fun banter, they don’t drag out conversations about ‘what they did this weekend’ into a 10-minute intro that has nothing to do with traveling! I love that there are both men and women, single and married, and some with children who host this podcast, it makes it relatable to everyone, not just Millennials. I think there is a good mix of personalities. Lale Arikoglu, Laura Redman, Meredith Carey, Megan Spurrell, and Katherine LaGrave are superstars! I respect their perspectives and they bring such great experiences and variety to the show. I love them ALL as moderators, but I think Brad Rickman is the best as the moderator. He is so genuine and relatable, he steers the conversations so well. And Mark Ellwood, I could listen to him for hours. I am totally gutted that I just discovered this podcast when it was ending. WHY must you end this?! Please reconsider this podcast, perhaps a monthly episode could be manageable? Thank you for the great work you produced. Please start doing episodes again!

Inspires me to travel
I just discovered this podcast a month ago, and I am listening to the entire archive (not in order). I listen to it on my long runs in Central Park, and it helps take my mind off the fact that I am running in 20 degrees. It inspires me to plan more travels and also has a lot of practical information. I have been reading Condé Nast Traveler for decades since I grew up with my mom having a subscription, and I find that the podcast adds another dimension to the magazine. Anyone who also reads the magazine will find this podcast insightful. My favorite episodes are How To Spend Your Credit Card Points, How To Find The Perfect Suitcase, Where We Are Going in 2019, and What It Takes To Make Our Gold List. The episodes titled “We Planned Your First Trip To _________” are really good guides too. Finally, I really enjoy Mark Ellwood’s voice. Keep up the good work!

I miss Travelogue...
Travelogue was clearly misunderstood by many, from the words of other reviews. And while objectively it was a big NY Centric and there were definitely curse words, it truly spoke to me, personally. In particular Brad, Mark, and Seb were always my favorites. Thank you CN Traveler for an awesome thing while it lasted. If you haven’t listened it’s worth listening in retrospect.

“9 thumbs up”
Hi there - love this podcast! Especially as someone who really doesn’t have any international travel experience, hearing about someone else’s experiences helps immensely. Could you get a Podcast going about tips for traveling solo? I’m a native Midwesterner and Chicagoan - so I would appreciate this podcast to bring it a little more back to earth, tell me about typical and cheesy touristy things. (And yes I listened to your over-tourism podcast about how everyone is going to see the same things) Also regarding your Chicago trip podcast- I was disappointed that you guys really left out quintessential Chicago things to do! I think peoples first time visiting these places, they want to do typical tourist things. Like I would tell people to go to the Bean (even though it’s only ok) but Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain and Lincoln Park and Oak Street Beach and Navy Pier and Magnificent Mile shopping and eating. Keep up the good work, this is still a very entertaining and useful podcast, I would just like to hear you guys being a little more authentic and down to earth!

Bring back Travelogue....I miss you already!
It’s only been about a week since they said goodbye to this podcast, but I already miss everyone. I know that most of the remaining contributors are female and will be on Women Who Travel, but I miss the good ole days of Mark, Sebastian and Brad along with all the amazing women. I continued to be saddened as one by one our podcast family said goodbye over the past several months and then finally the show. I listened each week for those previously unknown to me places, which I diligently flag on my Google maps, whether it was a city, sight, restaurant or hotel. Listening has encouraged me to look beyond my Europe “comfort zone” to planning a solo trip to SEA. If anyone is still reading, please consider bringing back the family ❤️.

Enough about yourselves....
Listened to my first episode which was an interview with Rolf Potts. While the interview itself was interesting I had to wade through a full 45 minutes of the 3 hosts talking about airline mishaps when they had not listened to the news and heard the full stories, so they were making comments and offering opinions that were off track, and then, even worse, listen to the three of them tell stories about how they get recognized as travel personalities. I honestly don't care. They acknowledged the guest once or twice during this entire period. Interview subject himself was interesting once they bothered to get around to him. Only lasted that long as I kept thinking the interview must be coming up soon. Should have just skipped througt it while I was walking.

Things you should never when recording a podcast
I just listened to Things You Should Never do in a Hotel. Im glad you were all having a ball making this recording. Do you have any idea how annoying it is for the listener to try to listen when two of you are talking at the same time and a third is laughing loudly? Please, a little pity for those of us on the receiving end. Thanks

Travel Life Made!
Thank you so much for this PERFECT podcast. Starting in January 2019 I will be traveling full time and you have answered all my questions and addressed every concern. Thank you for your spirited banter and transparent honesty. You have made my travel life! Much Love ~Rae

Entertaining travel podcast
Very entertaining podcast on all aspects of travel. The host and editors are very informative, interesting, and funny. The only gripe is that they need a west coast editor on the show. It is an extremely New York centric view on travel subject matters.

I recently planted 250 lbs of garlic which took roughly 11 hours. Had a great time catching up on back episodes of Travelogue, love the show!

Excellent Travel Podcast
This is my favorite podcast! I get so excited on Fridays when the new episode drops. I think the topics are relevant and interesting and the contributors provide balanced commentary. I’ve been podcasting for less than a year but have listened to all of the episodes (1+ commute daily). By now, the regular cast seem like friends that I’m having a chat with about my next trip. I love the destination topics. I feel like I learn so much. Keep it up Traveler! I wish you did 2 episodes a week! (Yes, I also listen and love the Women Who Travel podcast, but I still want more!)

Great in theory but...
The participants come off as incredibly entitled, strangely negative, and egregiously opinionated (basically offended by everything). In general there are way too many contributors in each episode and everyone ends up talking over each other. The best episodes are the ones where they dial it down and have compelling guests providing insightful and unique commentary. But even they typically get cut off multiple times throughout...

LOVED the ‘What You Should Never, Ever Do In A Hotel Room’ episode!!! Great advice & I laughed through my entire work commute!

Devoid of Fun
This podcast really represents everything that needs to die in travel writing and journalism. This podcast is about lists and best ofs but devoid of any real story’s or joyful moments. Pretentious New Yorkers who compare every experience to New York. The hosts seem more interested in collecting knowledge of destinations than truly experiencing these destinations.

No need for a classy travel discussion to be ‘explicit’
I really enjoy the witty conversation but the profanity really clunks, surely there could be a more articulate way to make a point or add emphasis. I keep leaving for awhile and trying again months later hoping this problem will be solved.

Great Info From Knowledgeable Hosts
I love this podcast. The hosts are always pretty knowledgeable and the topics range from traveling with kids, which I don’t have but still found interesting, to planning a safari. They do reference some higher-end properties, but CN Traveler caters to a higher-end audience, so this shouldn't be a surprise. Even if you can’t afford to visit the high-end places, it’s fun to dream, right? Keep up the good work, guys!

Some Interesting Dialouge, But Not Great
They discuss some interesting topics, but it's nothing more than some frequent travelers that think they are trained experts. It comes off a bit self-important and tad dramatic at times. It's ok, definitely not great.

This makes me feel more adventurous about travel
Encountering and experiencing other places and the people that make them special is such a gift. You grow from travel, and often we are limited by the boundaries of our own comfort zone. The Travelogue podcast makes places I had never considered visiting seem more possible, more alluring, and more enriching. The different CN Traveler writers and editors bring unique voices to the podcast. I appreciate them all. I love the swearing and I love the “umms.” They are real people giving real talk, often sharing deeply personal accounts. Westerners traveling is not uncomplicated when considering the environment, colonialism, gender, race, or poverty. Travelogue does an excellent job of unpacking some of those issues with sensitivity and perspective, while always encouraging people to try new things and to see new places.

Perfect mental escape
This show gets me through my brutal commute to work. I escape to these fantastic places you discuss; suddenly I’m not on the same old route to work. Great work, everyone. I just finished your episode about Bourdain; you all did a thorough and heartfelt job with that tribute. I, too, enjoyed his episode in West Virginia. Speaking of which, I am from a beautiful town in WV called Lewisburg. Someone from the magazine should scope it out if you haven’t already. Vogue magazine did a feature not too long ago; it’s a great small-town mix of Appalachian culture, wilderness adventure, and refined dining and arts. Trust me on this one :) Ok, take care everyone, and thanks for what you do.

So fun & inspiring
I love listening to this podcast - the calming and uplifting voices, the funny and charming conversations and OF COURSE the romantic notion of travel broken down into real terms. I’ll be honest I started listening and have just been listening non stop for weeks. Keep it up guys!!!

Great podcast!
Love the podcast. I work as a flight nurse doing mostly international trips. If I had a $1 for every time Mark cuts someone off or says “I think that’s a really good point.” I could probably get a decent business class seat to a far off land. Keep up the great work guys.

Friday afternoon can never come quick enough when waiting for this podcast. I especially love when they do a deep dive into a city or country!

Mobile Passport
Hi! I am an avid listener and lookforward to every episode. I’m unsure as to the episode number but in a not so distant episode you all had mentioned the Mobile Passport app. I decided to download the app on a recent trip my family and I took to Costa Rica. I had no idea how it would work or if it was even legit. I felt like a VIP as I skipped the RIDICULOUS customs lines at Miami International. Thanks for the heads up and keep up the good work!

Why the cursing?
It’s so strange... the show is usually quite good... but travel is supposed to open your mind and make you more articulate and worldly, perhaps even sophisticated... and yet, these hosts typically sit around and curse like sailors. It’s one thing to get passionate, and throw in foul language for emphasis... but these folk have no issue saying something like “I was in xxx and the lobby was so fxxxxng beautiful...” It doesn’t even make sense even in context. Condé tries to be somewhat sophisticated and the context is really thrown off by the hosts who evidently are too crass to express themselves with any more elevated verbal skills than that of the typical uncouth American traveler, you can usually find disturbing the peace with boisterous vulgarities at any otherwise ideal paradise. The most recent episode was on faith travel... peppered with puerile vulgar f-bombs, that just felt so out of context with the subject of grandeur of certain people’s faith and their practices and travel experiences. Yup, that St Peter’s Cathedral is Fxxx’n cool.... I am no prude and not a member of any faithful flock... but when a sophisticated organization lets its well traveled representatives carry on like sailors on shore leave, it makes one wonder if travel really does improve a person at all, or if for them, Travel is just one more opportunity for a selfie with a caption “this place is the sxxt!”

my favorite podcast!
This is absolutely my favorite podcast - each episode is not only full of so much amazing content where you learn new things about different cities, cultures, and events around the world, but the personalities of the hosts totally make the podcast. Brad does a brilliant job of guiding all the exuberant personalities through each episode and keeping people on track while allowing for entertaining diversions; Mark stands out for his off the wall comments and hilarious metaphors; and Laura, Sebastian and all the other regular guests are starting to form unique characters in my head as well. I love that you all clearly have so much fun together while sharing great intel and stories. Kudos to your editing team for keeping things so tightly edited lately- there's never too much blank space, it's like a wild ride each week. Thanks for everything you do, and keep it up!

Fun and informative
This podcast is the same as listening to your friends chat - if your friends traveled the world and had insights and opinions to share about travel. I enjoy it.

Mixed bag
Sometimes there's good information. Often times nauseatingly pretentious and condescending. A work in progress. (Note, most of the country is spared the agony of flying out of JFK, LaGuardia or Newark. Please stop basing everything on that)

Some Good Info - Poorly Presented
I’ve listened to 3-4 episodes so far, & while there is some helpful content, the presentation makes me wonder if I can go on. It’s like listening to drunk friends who talk over each other and who drop more F-bombs as the podcast goes on. It seems like the cast would benefit from the services of a director/producer, and some solid prep work. As-is, it’s a mess.

Was great... then you introduced sponsors
The best thing about this podcast was it had no sponsors. The latest episode introduced the dreaded sponsor. I understand the need to underwrite content but there is so much advertising in your book and on your website that this was a nice respite from it. It also serves as a giant ad for the book and website itself. Sure, the places mentioned in the episodes are getting a free ad, but that’s the nature of talking about travel.

Planning Your Next Trip to New Orleans
I was really surprised, disappointed and somewhat angered by the lack of acknowledgement of African American culture on the New Orleans episode. You can’t talk about the essence and “feel” of a city without mentioning many of the people who brought that to the city. Part of the charm and spirt of New Orleans is rooted in the culture of people of color that was not acknowledged or understood by your guests. Code words of “sketchy”, “urban”, “suburban” is really reprehensible. This show would be so much better if the guests for the topics had actual knowledge beyond the surface of what is popular at the moment and included a more diverse panel.

“Yeah, so no...”
“Yeah, so no,” the hosts need to realize they start LITERALLY every sentence with one of these verbal crutches and it is very grating after a short time. I’m a long time CN Traveler subscriber and wanted to like this podcast, but between the aforementioned issue and the constant shade thrown at those of us that aren’t 20-30 yrs old, it’s hard to just listen for the travel tips when one can get these elsewhere. I dip in occasionally to this one, but since it’s an hour, I don’t find myself listening often to these pretentious millennials with their annoying verbal tics.

Could be so much better
I have been listening to this podcast for the past 7 or 8 months on and off. There is so much potential here, but I am not finding it difficult to get past the useless profanity. The podcast for 1-19-2018 already had 2 F-bombs and some other expletives within the first half. Like can't you people articulate without profanity? Is it really that difficult? Also the pretentious east coast (we are better than everyone else) comes through as clear as a bell. Judging from other reviews here, the CN Traveler people just don't care about the reviews. So I may just have to unsubscribe and go on with all the better podcasts like: Extra Pack of Peanuts and Amateur Traveler. They are so much better.

No substance
I didn't know the subject of travel could be so boring, until I found this podcast. The subjects are too generic. I'd rather they chose a destination and really got into it for a whole podcast. There's just nothing very informative in any of these. I don't understand how anybody gets anything out of them!
