Eye Opening
One of the very first episodes I listened to was in early 2022 and it spoke immensely to me. This podcast gave me language at a time where I was searching for answers. It helped me put my thoughts into words. Super thankful I randomly stumbled upon this podcast. It was definitely a God send.

Excellent content
Invaluable information and guests for trauma clinicians and laypeople. But the rambling and redundant introductions are the worst. Add to that ads that are spliced in without warning and the podcast loses me a bit making it a challenge to follow as optimally.

Why can’t the guest say Palestine? Gaza is for the Palestinian people and Israel illegally occupied their homeland. It is not Israel.

Good content, but abrupt ad breaks
Would be most welcomed for the listener to have a clue that an ad is about to break the sometimes delicate thread of conversation!

Dr Han Ren episode 385
Laura Reagan’s podcasts showcase not only foundational learning but cutting edge philosophy and approaches, as well. For example, this episode featuring Dr Han Ren shares her belief that behaviors that might be considered maladaptive and thus frequently used vehicles for shaming, deserve curiosity, exploration and recognition. Definitely worth a listen. Mary Sue McCarthy, LCPC

That was a very enlightening episode, and I now I realize I can’t go a day without hearing their ads it’s

One of my favorites
I’ve been a longtime listener and value so many of the episodes. Though it is geared towards therapists, I often recommend episodes to my therapy clients (for example the ones about psychedelics and healing). I love Laura’s warmth and openness.

Insightful
I don't enjoy the ads and long introductions, but I like the content. I just finished listening to an audiobook of one of the guests, Lindsay Gibson. It was great. Thanks Ms. Regan.

Excellent episode - 1 small nitpick
I loved the interview with Donna Jackson Nakazawa about the intersection of psychoneuroimmunology, trauma and microglia. I am stoked to read her book! However; about halfway through Laura mentions something about autoimmune disorders being more common in female identified patients. They are actually more common in patients with two X chromosomes / identified as female at birth (or Klinefelter’s syndrome or other XX intersex condition) because many genes relating to the immune system are stored on the portion of the X chromosome which is missing in Y. Gender identity has no apparent impact. These x-linked recessive autoimmune genotypes are why people with XY chromosomes (cis men and most trans women) are less prone to autoimmune disorders, but more likely to die of infectious disease (and younger) than cis women and trans men, their xx counterparts. One of the ways we have confirmed this is causative rather than correlative is that trans men, non-binary people and trans women retain the likelihood of developing said disorders associated with their chromosomal sex even after going through hormonal transition (though esterol and estradiol are also theorized to have an additional inflammatory effect partially mitigated by progesterone hence the relationship between menstrual cycle and flareups, and between aromatization and autoimmunity the case of a higher-testosterone system).

Excellent content regarding trauma treatment
I’ve listened to hundreds of trauma, psychology, and/or therapy podcasts. This one and Therapist Uncensored provide the highest level content. Excellent guests. Intelligent questions.

Great hostess!
Laura is a fun soul, she's an amazing hostess and she's killing this podcast. Also the sound quality is excellent!

First ten minutes are ads/promotions
Great content but annoying that there’s so much time wasted on the ads in the beginning. Yes, I know I can ski them and I do, but I’d rather hear 45 minutes of great content instead of all the ads.

Most helpful Therapy resource
Laura Reagan, LCSW-C, is really tapping into something bigger … And she is making a pathway for people like me (not knowledge in psychology) to find tangible changes. I found her new podcast The Trauma Chat to be even better as it provides easy to understand information that you can use to then go to her Therapy Chat to find in-depth information and resources. Her new website is also very helpful. I believe that what Laura Reagan is doing is serving as a liaison between those of us in need to the specific kind/type of provider who can be the most helpful to our specific situation/need. I thank you Laura Reagan, LCSW-C for your efforts to make a better world for all of us 🌎❤️…. I highly recommend her website and both of Podcasts!!!

Do your research
Recently found this podcast and see Irene Lyon was interviewed - despite her atrocious response to BLM. Please, do your thorough research on the clinicians you interview and please see whether they are straight up white supremacy apologists and folks who perpetuate the idea that buildings are more important than Black bodies. Will not be tuning in.

Great to explore ideas in psych
I am an occupational therapist, which in a handful of states is legally considered a qualified mental health professional. Beyond practice interests, I’ve found this podcast to be really interesting when exploring concepts in my own mental health & trauma experiences. This podcast covers a variety of ideas that would be near impossible to fit each piece into a practice, but I think that is the highlight of it all. A sampler of theory/concepts from experts - research what resonates, implement as appropriate, and let go of others. Very interesting!

Best podcast ever!
As a therapist-in-training this podcast has been extremely helpful. It is so well rounded with topics that I touch on every day with my own clients.

The BEST
This is one of my favorite podcasts, and I am so so happy I found it. It has allowed me to really understand myself and those around me on a much deeper level. Very grateful for this show ❤️

Thank you! Can’t get enough
Laura, this is an incredible podcast that is helping me integrate what I know (so far) as a psychotherapist. I don’t have time to do all the trainings I wish I could—but your podcast gives me a deep enough dive to prioritize which emerging practices I want to learn more about. Hope to see you at one of the trainings you are highlighting soon:)

Just the Best Therapy Podcast!
I’m so addicted to this show! Laura brings such thought provoking topics in psychology, emotions, and life, with some amazing expert guests. I have learned so much and so many of my nutrition clients have been at the receiving quite a bit of my enlightenment. This one podcast is better than going back to get my own therapist (don’t worry, still going). The only negative comment I have is that I can’t stop listening! Thank you Laura and Therapy Chat for helping me become a better clinician, husband, father, and man. Keep them coming!

Incredibly valuable information!
I look forward to every new episode of Therapy Chat. I’m an LCSW and even with grad school, supervision, and various CEU courses and conferences I learn something new from every Therapy Chat podcast I listen to. Thank you Laura for wonderful information, knowledgeable guests and covering topics that are not well-covered in formal learning spaces.

The sound is poor
All guests are very hard to hear which is unfortunate because I believe there is some great content here.

Helpful and informative!
I really value all I have learned on Therapy Chat! You are a great host and have excellent content, thank you for all you do!

Holistic self care episode
I was hoping this episode would talk more about self care using alternative tools. I’m a student with allergies to scented products/fragrance, especially lavender and vanilla. I wish professionals would stop using scents in their offices.

Great Content on Show
Laura is a fantastic host offering great content on relevant mental health topics that is suitable for a lay audiences but professionals would get a lot out of it as well!

Highly recommend for therapists
I have been enjoying "Therapy Chat" and have grown as a psychotherapist upon hearing a variety of approaches. It has specifically inspired me to learn about expressive modalities, IFS, and AEDP and I'm very thankful to have heard about these approaches at various points in the podcast.

Clinically Informative, but easy to digest Podcast!
I have been a fan of Therapy Chat for several years (I think since it began - time flies!). During this time, I have been introduced to so many fantastic clinicians; it's hard to pick a favorite! I have dramatically increased my therapeutic knowledge by listening the Therapy Chat, and reading the books of the many professionals Laura has featured. Laura does a wonderful job of facilitating the conversations. She is down-to-earth, and so calm and relaxed - it seems like I am listening to a good friend. I have recommened this podcast to all my clinician friends, and even to a few clients. Keep up the great work Laura. You mentioned initiating some new trainings, and I say go for it! Best Wishes in 2019!

I’ve only listened to a few and I feel so hopeful for my mental health! I can’t afford actual sessions right now, and I know that this isn’t the same thing, BUT I feel less lonely and much more hopeful. Thank you Therapy chat!!
